There's no Hathaway Garnet doesn't win this.

He's actually in the NHL people...

At likely his full potential.

I voted Schneider, I loved what I saw from him as an 18 year old goalie in the AHL. He had flashes of brilliance on a pretty poor defensive team. That experience should also be good for his development.

He was in the NHL for the last 14 games of a lost season. He had 3 assists in that time. He is very far from being an NHL mainstay. He needs to come in to camp and impress a new coach, and if he isn't one of the best 13 forwards, he may never see the NHL with us again.

Even if he does scratch and claw his way onto the opening night roster, there's no guarantee he isn't just another Jooris- a guy who initially impressed, but couldn't sustain it.

Meh, just the easiest to make a pun from. At this point the entire field is a crapshoot.

I thought we'd just go to 20, like we did last year. I guess I'll see if there's an appetite to go further.

He played 14 games at the end of a lost season, he most certainly is not in the NHL. Sure, he impressed in that time but, the style of game he played in those 14 games would be very tough for him to sustain over a full 82 game schedule. Not to mention he doesn't have a high offensive ceiling so even if he digresses in the physical, get under the opponents skin game, he doesn't bring much else. He's a good depth prospect, but at this point he'll be a 4th line NHL player tops, perhaps a NHL/AHL tweener.

I really think Freddie Hamilton is a better prospect than Hathaway at this point. Same age, out produces Hathaway, plays a gane that would easily translate into the NHL, plays multiple forward positions effectively, solid defensively and he's no slouch physically either.

I'm hoping Hamilton makes the team over Hathaway this year, if either of them do, which I expect to be the case.

Voted Lindstrom anyways.

Voted Hathaway again. The points people are making regarding his upside are valid. However, I think at this point the prospects that are on the board (save for Pribyl) are relative long shots to sniff the NHL, despite many having higher upsides than Hathaway.

I like Hathaway, and I can definitely see him as a 4th liner in the NHL. I think there are a couple guys who have less probability of reaching their upside, but their upside is still higher than Hathaway.

I'm in the middle of a move, so if Ace or II wants to go ahead and do the thing, I'm totally cool with that.
