Does that sort of ad revenue get divided/shared with other NHL teams or does Molson keep it all?

I think Molson keeps all of it. They also keep concession revenues.

Only gate revenues get shared if I'm not mistaken.

Of course the CH Group would keep that revenue there is no reason to share it. If your question is about Hockey Related Revenue yes it is a revenue that the players would be getting 50 percent of.

I think its split 50/50 since if I remember correctly the city owns 50% of the arena.

The city doesn't own anything of the Habs. Team and rink are all Molson's. He got a guaranteed loan from the Quebec Government which he has already paid back in full if memory serves me right.

Amazing how much companies will spend on advertising...I am not even convinced it works...

You have to figure it does if not they would not be doing it.

Indeed the amount they spend can be insane. Huge companies literally have marketing budgets that reach into the hundreds of million a year.

True, it must, it might not be measurable, but....on the other hand these are companies at times, with those types of budgets and spending millions, who might be better off giving their employees a decent raise for their production? Semantics, I know...it's just amazaing the amount of money being spent advertising inside the Bell Centre...

Just to give you an idea, GM has the highest marketing budget...

The straightforward explanation is that GM’s GM 1.54% new head of global marketing, Joel Ewanick, is looking for ways to trim the automaker’s estimated $4.7 billion global annual advertising budget — the largest in the world.

You know what's crazy. Yesterday, at the game, I did focus on those ads. Pretty sure I wouldn't have if I didn't read the article which started this thread.

Anyways, at the game, I was like: wow, did Canadian Tire really paid 1M$ for that logo on the ice. Or, did Coors Lite paid their ad fee or was a freebie by Geoff Molson.

Geoff Molson is but one part of a family who is but one half of the families who control Molson Coors. They also have shareholders.

Geoff Molson is but one part of a family who is part of a 6 entity ownership group of the Canadiens.

In other words he is in no position to give ad "freebies".
