Despite high(er) hopes, this still isn't :flyers year.

Veteran Chris Pronger is on the block for futures. Bryzgalov as well. Preferably in a package because I only have one trade left.

I'm not looking for any position specifically, but a young NHL defenseman (preferably RH) or LW would be an added bonus.

Trade to Announce:

:wings acquire
I. Bryzgalov (33, 85 overall)
C. Pronger (39, 85 overall)
O. Bartulis (26, LH-TWD, 73, 2.5*)

:flyers acquire
G. Nyquist (24, LW-PLY, 78 overall, 4.5*)
M. Samuelsson (36, RW-TWF, 77 overall)
J. Gustavsson (29, 75 overall)#

# Note: This trade exceeds the normal 4/6 framework by one roster player--but the inclusion of Gustavsson is necessary to offset the CPU's decision to sign three backup NHL goalies. It has been cleared by Chuck for this reason. I will take him in the deal, and then immediately place him on "waivers" (7th + 7th trade).

It's a deal on the :devils end as well

Needed a goalie and get a solid C in Laich and some youth in Pouliot. Sucks to lose Henrique but damn did I need a goalie. 73 overall Frazee wasn't cutting it.

as promised, goaltender Jonas Gustavsson (75) is on "waivers". Post if you wish to claim him. You must have a space and must keep him on your NHL roster. It will be a 7th for 7th trade that doesn't count.

If more than one team claims him, I'll deal with the team with the worst record.

Beachemin claimed off of waivers by the Toronto maple leafs, solid addition to my team's top 4.

You have to wait until tomorrow.

Any team can claim him until then. Team with the worst record gets him.

EDIT: Any, to be clear, in the future, people should post a waived player both on the league news screen and in thread.

EDIT #2: I'm not sure Leafs should be allowed to claim him. You only have $3.5 million in cap space, and that's with Gunnarson and Liles injured. Gunnarson comes back in 6 games, at which point, you would not have the cap space to fit him without dropping another player to the AHL...

Montreal is looking to make a trade.

Need to upgrade speed and shot in my top 6, preferably via a right winger.

Also looking for a younger TWD with potential, leaning tough but with decent skating (a player like Despres would be perfect).

Here's my updated roster. Mainly looking to move Burrows, Cleary and Kaberle, but open to just about anything.

Clarification on waiver rules for Prestige--PROPOSED RULES FOR SEASON 3:

1. To play a player on waivers, post it BOTH on the league news board (in game) and in this thread. Once a player is put on waivers, they cannot be pulled back, and it is up to the GM placing the player on waivers to make themselves available within 1-2 hours of the advance to execute the trade.

2. To claim a player on waivers, post the claim either in game or the thread. To do so, you must have sufficient cap space--inclusive of all players currently injured due back by the end of the regular season. This is the only way to prevent GMs from claiming players and then dropping them in the minors for depth. (E.g., in the case of Beauchemin, Toronto does not have the cap space to claim him, because he has nearly $8 million tied up in injured players--in fact, when healthy, you may need to put someone on waivers yourself to stay cap compliant. You can't simply drop the salary to the AHL).

3. If multiple teams place a claim on a player, he will be awarded to the team with the worst record 1 hour prior to the advance. This should allow time to arrange the 7th for 7th + player deal.

There have been no formal rules set in place up until now, and I didn't anticipate it being a problem. However, the uncertainty over who should be eligible to be placed on waivers and how it should work is just too great to be implimented mid-season.

There is this thing called injured reserve that gives me the cap space to get someone like Beachemin, also i plan on placing one of my dmen on waivers once i get Beachemin so there is no reason for this to not go through.

Upon further reflection, I don't think we can use this unofficial system of waivers. Perhaps Chuck and I can write something up for next year, but at the moment, it is too poorly formed to be implemented fairly.

It would be nice if EA simply used a system that didn't tend to glitch and create problems. I hate people stuffing players in the minors, but there's no good way to prevent that, and if the effect of using an unofficial waiver system is simply going to be to encourage other teams to dump players to make room, it isn't worth the hassle.
