Zamula not playing tonight, so he only played two preseason games.

5 Zamula - 23:32, 17:57

These guys all played 3.

23 Attard - 18:10, 16:04, 15:03
36 Andrae - 19:38, 20:51, 23:49
50 Ginning - 22:27, 15:59, 16:31

I recall Tortorella saying this would be the opening day roster, more or less.

Incoming massive backpedaling and defense of an obviously bad decision.

Why would Zamula be sent down? He's not waiver exempt and they need at least 7 D on the roster.

So many things to respond to in this tweet, but I'll just keep it to two thoughts...

-Brink has among the top forwards with puck on his stick this preseason. It's basically been him and Frost as the two best, so far. Now I wouldn't expect that to continue, but wouldn't be shocked if he turned into a 70 point guy (not this year, but at his peak). I'd be shocked that he doesn't make this team. It would be criminal if Foerster did and Brink didn't. Brink has clearly outplayed him.

-I feel as though Torts just says whatever the hell comes to his mind at the time of interview. First this was basically going to be the opening night roster. Now it's not. I'm not sure if he's back-tracking what he said earlier, or if he's trying to cover that up. Whatever the case, the dude has zero foresight.

Absolutely brutal if that is the opening night lineup. Cates 2C? Brink sent down after his preseason? Zamula sent down?

Trash process. There is zero hope if that is the lineup they roll out.

Lol…Torts. So much for no vets will block the kids, or, we have to see what these kids can do. What a shit lineup.

IF this is the lineup on game 1, this is pretty much the worst one you could make based on who is still available. I won't be surprised if this is it, unfortunately.

So he can go have a career somewhere else. Carrying him as the 7th D man is awful for him and the team.

He is CLEARLY better than 2 of our starting D, is young, and STILL can't make the team, set him free.

Not as hot on the Zamula train as a bunch of you but Brink ought to play.

I'm gonna smash stuff if Brink turns into another Frost situation. He was NHL ready two seasons ago. There's no reason he shouldn't be a top-6 forward on this bunch.

But I assume he will be on the team and this is rest (having played more preseason games than most) and a final shot for Foerster to stake a claim.

Zamula wouldn't have played 20 plus minutes and been paired with Sanheim if the plan was to waive him - he's going to start. Seeler - Walker will probably be the third pair with Staal as the 7th D-man.

Brink or Foerster will start the season in LHV, they either play in the top 9 or they play on the first line in LHV, they're not sitting or playing on the 4th line. Foerster is getting a look see with Couts, but that doesn't guarantee him a spot, and if he stays, he's on double secret probation.

Allison is on the inside track for 13th forward, they've been playing him at LW.

Andrae will return to LHV, probably pair with Grans/Attard on the 1st pair, Mete - Belpedio and Ginning - Grans/Attard.

I can see 13 forwards, 7 D-men and 3 goalies to start the season, depending if they think they can get Sandstrom through waivers. Cheap backup goalies can have value.

This will be fluid all season, if someone has an injury, Briere has warm bodies and the ability to absorb bad contracts for PO teams.

I'm not sure they could roll out worse defensive pairs.

Zamula looks to be the 7th D, probably rotating in for Staal and Seeler in the early going.

It's a shame the 4th line has been set in stone before camp even opened. They've made no room for Brink and I'd prefer him to almost half of the guys who will be regulars this year.

Poor TK...

Allison probably gets pressbox time with Zamula.

It's hilarious that they're scared of losing Sandstrom, but they'll waive him eventually... unless they're waiting to move Hart, I suppose.
