A lot of people have us pegged to finish bottom 5, and I'm tired of hearing it. We heard pretty much the same thing before the 2011-2012 season and ended up having a pretty good season taking the Rangers to 7 games in the first round of the playoffs and seeing Karlsson take home the Norris.

Maybe I'm being overoptimistic but I have, dare I say it, confidence in our team.

My expectations:

- Karlsson return to pre-injury form
- Our young defenseman (Cowen, Wiercioch, Ceci) take a step forward in their development
- Ryan and Turris break 70 points
- Anderson and Lehner post a combined .920 save percentage
- and GMBM beats his fight with cancer

Well, that list of guys scored 204 goals last years... and that's not taking into account injuries and really few games for some (Stone, Hoffman)

So you're not that too far off, I will say between 210 and 230 goals, I thik our offense is underrated because it is Spezza-less. Sucks with the Sens, Sens suck without him.

Turris goes on a prolonged scoreless streak, fans are irrate.

People will bash melnyk whenever the Sens lose a game.

Spezza will score 75+ points with the stars.

Ceci has a sophomore slump.

Cowen improves big time.

Sens are a bubble team come to the trade deadline, fans demand that Anderson be traded but the Sens elect not to. Fuhr makes a thread about how Murray doesn't have a plan and is wasting assets.

Spezza finishes with more points than Seguin or JaBenn. Dallas sends out a line of JaBenn, Spezza, Seguin in late game situations the same way Spezza and Alfredsson used to play together late in games in Ottawa.

In Ottawa, Prince is brought up and it's determined that another top 6 winger prospect isn't good enough for NHL top 6, is played for a bit on the fourth line, and then relegated to obscurity in the likes of Butler, Regin, Conacher, Pageau, and Hoffman.

Stone demonstrates he is good enough for top 6 in the NHL, and has his first 20+ goal season.

MaClean shaves his moustache.

That is a bold prediction.

Spezza flops in Dallas and subsequently becomes the next Brad Richards:sarcasm:

I figure if we draft anywhere above 6th overall is a failure

This version of the Sens will be endearing to all HF boards memebers because of their hard working attitude and effort.
Maclean's efforts to make this team resemble Detroit will meet with success as he will get buy in form all players.
This team makes the playoffs
Bobby Ryan resigns
Condra and hoffman are traded

It's going to go one of two ways:

1 - Sens go into pesky mode and grab a wildcard and make the second round

or

2 - Sens fall apart and pick in the top 5 of the draft

With all the character we have in the room right now, I'm leaning towards #1.

...and if Paulrus shave off that 'stache, I'm gonna be pissed.

- HFsens board finds a new scapegoat
- If the team does well, Spezza haters will say "I told you so"
- If the team does poorly, Spezza fans will say "I told you so"
- Brennan will pen a generally obtuse article written at a 3rd grade level
- Garrioch will ciruclate rumours of Ryan's impending departure
- Karlsson will have another feud with Brennan

It would be hilarious if we get McDavid, because in three years when his contract ends he will be demanding 10+

Best Case: We Pesky-troll the NHL and somehow manage to snag a playoff spot.
Worst Case: We get completely rocked due to our absolutely brutal D.

We could be anywhere from a playoff team to a bottom 5 team depending on injuries and how much/little our defensive game has improved. Really I have no idea - I hope we make the playoffs and are a competitive team but if we're not - I just hope the team is fun to watch.
