We're gonna be fine. We handled the Western Conference well last year and this Lightning team is better than the one we had last year. Yeah we aren't a good road team but if Stamkos is worth a damn as captain he has already called private players only meetings discussing how important this trip is and this is where we make or break our season. Meanwhile Coop is gonna tell us what we wanna hear, the team's gonna act like they don't look at the schedule, look at the standings or worry about their record.

We all know it's *********, the Bolts know what lies ahead of them. We are gonna come out with a fire under our bellies because we've been on top all year long and we aren't going to surrender it now. This is THE test to prove if we are championship material and I think we are gonna be just fine.

Survive February and we will have our litmus test to if we have the cajones to make it to a Stanley Cup.

The only places I have EVER worried about us playing are Boston, Buffalo, Ottawa, Pittsburgh, the Meadowlands or whatever NJ calls itself and Nassau Colesium. The rest can be handled.

It's a tough road, but if we want to be considered an elite team, we should perform in this instance. We're (relatively) healthy, with just a #4 and #5 Dman out, so the only excuses we can use if we lose is the other team was better.

This is the test - let's see how good this team really is.

Well spoken, brother

Shortest Robert post in history.

He doesn't really do the "War and Peace" length, 5-year-plan, visionquesting, career arc defining, Yzermanmindmelding, epic posts of awesome insanity anymore. Even when the thread is begging for it...

I...well...I think...I kind of miss those posts. Always so optimistic.

On Topic - I predict we go 6-5-2 for the month. Vasilevskiy plays both Kings games and Colorado and goes 2-1-0. The losses will be clustered enough to entice Yzerman into acquiring a defenseman a little before deadline shopping really heats up. Nobody on the Lightning roster or IR will be moved out before the deadline, any acquisition via pick(s) or prospect(s) only.

i like everything is not much to predict we are proving to be a team to be reckoned with cooper is doing a good job bishop is coming around triplets had hiccup but am willing to bet is more health related then anything else.

We are pretty dammed good and learning how to handle adversary hope that is right word handle whatever is in our path. I like this team like prospects in ahl and growth maturity people are showing.

Just looking at some numbers

We are tied with Detroit for the most wins for an eastern conference team against ones from the west with 12. Montreal is next with 11.

the wins

10/18 @ Vancouver
10/21 @ Calgary
10/24 @ Winnipeg
10/28 vs Arizona
11/6 vs Calgary
11/22 vs Minnesota
1/15 vs Edmonton
1/17 vs Colorado
1/20 vs Vancouver
2/5 @ Dallas
2/8 vs Anaheim
2/15 @ San Jose

St. Louis (17), Vancouver (16), and Nashville (15) lead the west for facing eastern conference teams.

I said 7-3-2 before the month started.

They play two teams that they "should" beat this weekend, then the big showdown on home ice with Chicago.

I could be close. Hopefully.

Ugh... 5-4-2. That's not good enough.

If they beat Chicago, big if obviously, that's 6-4-2 through the toughest part of our entire schedule, longest and toughest road trip, and missing two of our top 6 dmen. I think we take that all day long.

Sure it would have been nice to hang on to that 1 goal lead with 3 mins left against STL, or to finish the comeback against NSH. A bounce in either of those games and we are 7-4 with a chance to be 8-4.

All things considered, 14 out of 24 points would be good IMO.

Set ourselves up to control our own destiny. Take care of business at home and against all the divisional teams this next month and we will be fine.

It really was the month from hell. That's a lot of games crammed into a short time-span for the team who's already played the most games in the NHL. I think we badly needed this break.
