If the PP works hard and scores close to a goal per game, and the road PK is middle of the pack, we'll be okay. But we've been a different team on the road this year, and that's with a hodgepodge of opponents. A west coast road trip looks like a nightmare right now. This is where I think the spotlight is on a coach's motivational powers.
One small benefit is that we're finally going to get some days off between games. We had a pretty tiring schedule in the first half +.
As for a prediction, I'll say the home games buoy us: 6-5-1.
3-1 at home, and a respectable 3-4-1 on the road.
Can't see us coming out of February on top of the Atlantic though. Aside from a few games, Montreal's February is comparatively easy. Buffalo, Arizona, and NJ to start. Edmonton. Two games vs. Toronto.
Luckily, Detroit is in a lot tougher and have 9 of 11 games on the road and they'll be finishing the month with their own west coast trip.
