Prediction: Leafs Record in December

Looking at that schedule, there's not one game I feel any shred of confidence going into with how this team has been playing, particularly against those Western Conference teams.

Yup especially the games versus the Sharks, Blues, Coyotes and Blackhawks... The Stars on the other hand might be the easier one out of the bunch.

I will admit it will be tough, tough tough, but we tend to do well against tough teams. so if we can manage to beat divisional/conference rivals and try to split points between the western teams - we're good.

Yikes, its gonna be an ugly month. Particularly, that 5 game stretch against Bruins, Kings, Blues, Hawks, Penguins in a row is insane. They're all teams that could steam roll over the Leafs easily.

I'm not happy with Leafs play all season and even more so currently as the team is struggling just about everywhere except PP and goaltending and that can only take you so far. Guessing they win 2 or maybe 3.

Even Dallas are a pretty decent team that is buried due to a ridiculously tough western conference.

Best you can hope for is Leafs steal a game or two against these tough teams and maybe take a few into OT.

the beauty about the December schedule is two-fold. Firstly, we can see what this team, in this system, has to offer against the better teams. Personally, I feel as though when they play well they can beat the good teams (4-1 leads nonwithstanding). Secondly, playing against playoff teams is going to expose the gaps on the Leafs that need to be filled to go far IN THE PLAYOFFS. The East is so bad that it might actually be harder to miss the playoffs than make them. Don't hit the panic button, let the holes get exposed by the good teams, and fill them accordingly. It's not going to matter what Columbus does because when it comes down to it, Columbus won't be playing for pinks.

The weird part about this team....I really like the players we have. Something I thought we would grow upon...ever since watching the kadri-cherry segment, I thought this team was taking a step forward in the "buddy, stand up for everyone, no bs" department. What I have watched the past while is a team just playing...no swagger (kinda hate the word). But I don't see the same guys that would trounce the habs on the board, along the boards, with the fists. I think a wake up call is needed.....no better way then to play some emotional divisinal games.

Anyways....I think the leafs will find a groove and we'll be praising their play soon enough. Things like this make teams and it all depends on how they respond.

I thought we'd be 5-8 in November and am 2 losses away from being right.

6-7 in December is my prediction.

This month is so rough, I'm trying to look at it week-to-week. We are playing so bad that we could lose em all. But if they smarten up.

Week 1 they could go 2-1, that would be successful.
Week 2 is brutal. I would consider 1-3 great, 0-4 seems likely.
Week 3 isn't bad. But seems like a 1-1-2 week.
Week 4 should be a 3-0, but I see 1-1-1

Wow even with that, 4-6-3.

With a loss to MTL tonight and then that record, we would be 18-16-6.

That is not horrible considering the 19 next games before the Olympics have a lot of winnable games. Go 12-7 and be 30-23-6 at the Olympics and you are on your way.

Well looks like I was close so far. I really think the toughest part of the month is now behind us. I really feel like we are certainly capable of going 5-2 for the rest of the month.
