Erik Johnson
The first overall pick from the 2006 entry draft is having a solid start into the season. Suiting up for the powerhouse University of Minnesota, Johnson plays on the second defense pairing, gets ice time in all game situations and has scored 1 goal and 9 assists for 10 points in 10 games.

Jonathan Matsumoto
Stolen in the 6th round in the HFNHL entry draft, Matsumoto is playing for Bowling Green University in his junior season. After losing linemate Alex Foster who signed a pro contract, Matsumoto had to prove he can also score without this highly regarded young player on his line. So far he has 3 goals and 8 assists for 11 points in 9 games.

Alex Biega
Biggest darkhorse going into the 2006 draft, Biega is a small defenseman in the mold of JM Liles.
Biega is a terrific skater but his puck and stick skills are what really wowed me about him. For a freshman, he showed tremendous poise, patience and smarts with the puck. I was also impressed with his on-ice vision and his ability to read and anticipate plays.

Tony Romano
Another unheralded young player, Romano played last season for the NY Bobcats, what was the reason why he slipped in draft. Romano has secured a spot on a deep Cornell lineup and is getting powerplay time on the 2nd unit. Stats: 5gp 1g 4a
