Great question, but I don't know the answer. I'm guessing it might be because it's going to be on MSG, but I could be wrong.

Probably splitting up the pairings between this game and the final preseason one. Sbisa (or Mayfield) in tonight - Toews in on Thursday. My guess is that whatever the CS's plan is is pretty much finalized.

Can someone please explain to me why Toews would not be in the lineup tonight? Why not take a long look at this guy in the preseason?

I'm thinking he's the odd guy out at the moment so Trotz wants to see the guys he'll use more often. He'll probably play against Buffalo on Friday though. I try not to get too crazy about pre-season decisions. Boychuk also isn't in the lineup, so it's likely that Mayfield/Pelech and Sbisa come out of the lineup and Boychuk and Toews go in.
