Miller-Glenny-Ott will be annoying to play against. Looks like they're having fun together too :laugh:

I like what I'm seeing from Russo. Sproul also looks solid.

Daaaamn!! 5-1? Look in good so far. Too bad Larkin or AA didn't one. But nice to see the potential 4th line scoring and having fun. 8 pts?
Anybody know when Mrazek and Abby are supposed to be back into the lineup?

Happy with what I saw from the 4th line, the regular fourth line, if we get that in the regular season you won't hear a peep out of me about that. Ott I recind my previous statement from this thread.

A couple of pests with skill and Miller, who is probably the straight man on that line...

... as long as Ott sticks to his game, they will give other teams fits.

That line will get destroyed on the ice. Giving the other team fits or not, they are going to get outshot and and outscored badly.

Bad quality and no rewiew possibility make this tough to "scout" and missed a lot of notes, but this is all what I did see. Also mixed Sadowy and Bertuzzi few times on the 1st period, I think some of Lil' Bert points went to Sadowy.

I like that Sproul and Russo got the heaviest minutes at 22 and 20 respectively.

Sproul had the tougher matchups and defensive zone starts.

Russo got the bulk of offensive draws.

Both had dominant games in terms of driving possession.

I'm happy more people got to watch this one. Friday FSD has the game we'll have better quality feeds.

I'd like to hear more comments about our players, especially from the Griffins faithful.
Who played better or worse than usual? From what I saw with a crap stream:

Athanasiou is one of the fastest skaters in the world.
Larkin looks calm and more poised than last season.
Mantha fit in well.
The Miller goal was pretty, a soft dish from Ott (who had a great game) I didn't expect that quality of a goal. I'm definitely not as overwhelmed as some here but excellent game from that line.
Coreau is a solid goaltender.

Like I said last night the Wings dominated. There is this characteristic I think our entire team has, I don't know how to define it. The players support each other really well. A guy like Lashoff could honestly fill in at a minutes notice and be serviceable. A comment was made about lofting the puck while the off-winger is flying high through the neutral zone. This is standard now but glad the Wings are utilizing plays like this, pushing the high speed element.

Frk, Sadowy(6 shots), were awesome. Bertuzzi, Criscuolo, Turgeon, Nastasiuk, all held there own and contributed to this slaughtering.

The D...I was surprised DeKeyser and Smith got into the trouble they did. Hardly worth criticizing though all our D were solid. 14 days until opening season I'm sure we'll work out the bugs. :help:

I could fully dig watching the Griffins. Sadly the AHL provider is the biggest piece of trash ever, it's nearly unwatchable for me. I also cannot listen to hockey on a radio. Guys and gals if you're in eastern MI you need to be going to watch the Griffins!

Go Griff...I mean Red Wings! :laugh:
