Game 7's in NHL history have been littered with a lot of unlikely heroes.

For all the legends of the game who have delivered in the biggest of games- the Patrick Roys and the Gretzkys and Lemieux- we've seen a lot of unexpected game 7 heroes.

Last year- Troy Brouwer and Bryan Rust.

Two of the all-time game 7 OT heroes- David Volek and Stephane Matteau.

In 2009, we had a pair of game 7's (ANA/DET, CAR/BOS) and amidst a lot of starpower, who were the winning goal scorers? Dan Cleary and Scott Walker.

And of course, Mr. Game 7- Justin Williams.

Who do you see as unexpected/unlikely game 7 heroes?

For PIT/WSH, It could be Matt Cullen at 40 coming up big to extend his career a few more games. Or the much-maligned Brooks Orpik might fire a shot that happens to go in for potential LULZ.

In EDM/ANA- maybe Eberle or Nugent-Hopkins get their first goal of these playoffs at the right time. Maybe Josh Manson or Brandon Montour for ANA.

Who do you see as potential members of the 'Who saw THAT coming' game 7 hero club?

Pittsburgh: Schultz
Washington: Beagle
Oilers: Maroon
Ducks: Whoever has the balls to gut this team after this chokejob happens for the fifth year in a row.

I think Tom Wilson could be a difference maker for the Caps in game 7. Had a lot of great looks in this series, just didn't find the back of the net yet.

Justin Williams, oh wait.

Pens are going to get Justin Williams'ed.

For Edmonton, I could see Nugent-Hopkins or Eberle scoring a big goal.

Ovechkin seems pretty unlikely at this point, doesn't he have like 0 OT goals in the playoffs? He must be one of the least clutch superstars ever.

For the Caps: Braden Holtby. You heard it first folks. Crosby is going to get a breakaway where Holtby does the unthinkable and rushes to the center of his own zone and steals the puck from Crosby and shoot it hard, which somehow catches Fleury off-guard, and enters the net.

Whoever the Caps have as their 3rd line leftwinger. I hear he has a decent shot and has scored some goals in his past. Watch out for him
