May seem like an unexciting target, but I wonder if Highmore is being looked at. Berg was at a few Rockford games prior to this, Highmore just got called up and now Berg is in Chicago.

Erik Gustafsson I could also see being of interest to Montreal. Upcoming UFA that Chicago may not re-sign if they feel confident that Boqvist can take over.

Though that wouldn't explain the 3 Rockford games that Berg attended. Perhaps he sees a diamond in the rough with Dylan Sikura who I think should be in the NHL, but he's been buried under depth.

Bergevin is probably trying to stay in touch with the Hawks in case he needs his old job back, which may be sooner than later.

I believe Bergevin has made some questionable moves but I feel like it is really hard to be GM in MTL or TOR due to the pressure to succeed and the expectations of the fans. I feel like the Habs never went for a rebuild as they should have.

Because rebuild has worked so well for the teams that went with it in the past decade...

Bergevin is trash. Bottom-3 GM in any given year. Sure he's made a few good trades, but still... Kotkaniemi going to Chicago for Maatta and a second? It aint even that hard to believe.

is kane untouchable ? i mean the habs might be the only team in the league with enough cap to take this on by moving little in return.

looking down that blackhawks roster , it could be shaw, de haan or maybe even crawford with like 90% retention to replace kinkaid who sucks
who else can it be ?

I'm suprised no one is talking about Chad Krys or Nicolas Beaudin the habs are thin at LD for the futur. I wonder what would chicago want for one of them ? A Prospect Winger or RD ? Maybe a Goalie prospect (Mcniven?)

Krys I'd be okay with moving. Beaudin I think would have to be an overpay for that to even be considered.

Haven't seen MB make a such a bad move since he's in place with the Habs.
Tell me witch trade MB made that was such a bad move ???
btw Drouin is not a bad move

with the emergence of Dach and stormes contract ending this season I could see the hawks dealing Strome, having said that if bergevin is in fact scouting the hawks it would be most logical that it is Gus

but Gus doesn't help us, he can't defend in his own zone. ( he was put back on the first tho, might be for showing him ?)

only piece I could see us targeting on your D are:

- Boqvist
- Haan ( such an underrated Defensive D)

on offense:

- Saad
- Strome ? if he wants to deal a package for a package, but we need to deal a center if we receive Strome

Didn't even knew Habs played yesterday.

Look, root for the Habs, I don't care - you can still admit that Bergevin is bad. Or did you really like the Therrien fiasco? Subban trade?

1) Nobody did
2) I think its pretty fair to say that yes, I like the trade. Subban is closer to a #4 making 9.25M for another 2 and a half years while Weber is on pace for a career high.

Anybody that says Subban is a better hockey player at this point has NOT watched Subban in the past year and a half. He’s been that bad
