Jays need good young OF but I’d actually just prefer them to sign Puig and see how that works

Here's the Red Sox timeline:

We need to get under the luxury tax this year! Trade Mookie!

OK the outfielder we got for Mookie will be hurt to start the year. Sign Pillar!

COVID

Now the Sox have 4 OFs who could start; Benitendi (You will need a ton of prospects for him), Verdugo (see Benitendi), Pillar (B level prospect or #5 starter), JBJ (Just take him but he would be a TARP God in Toronto).

Well Puig signed w the Braves today so maybe this is all moot.
We have Pillar away for essentially nothing and have no reason to bring him back. It’s not about just filling roster slots in the OF, we need building blocks.

Benny or Verdugo would be great as you mentioned they wouldn’t be cheap at all so it’s best to keep our capital. JBJ would help stabilize things defence wise for sure but he doesn’t really fit into the long term plans. We’d gladly take him but couldn’t give up much.

oh, I agree. JBJ would be a defensive God in Roger's Place. He covers Fenway's CF like a tarp 40% of the RF and 60% of LF. With sports surface, he'd own.

Starting Lineup
C - Yasmani Grandal
1B - Jose Abreu
2B - Leury Garcia
3B - Yoan Moncada
SS - Tim Anderson
LF - Eloy Jimenez
CF - Luis Robert (R)
RF - Nomar Mazara
DH - Edwin Encarnacion

Bench
C/DH - James McCann
C/1B - Zack Collins
C/3B/LF - Yermin Mercedes (R)
1B/3B - Cheslor Cuthbert
OF - Adam Engel
OF - Nicky Delmonico
IF - Danny Mendick (R)

Starting Staff
SP Lucas Giolito
SP Dallas Keuchel
SP Reynaldo Lopez
SP Gio Gonzalez
SP Dylan Cease

Bullpen
RP Carlos Rodon (Coming back from TJ so I expect they ease him in as a reliever and he moves into rotation if someone falters)
RP Aaron Bummer
RP Kevlin Herrera
RP Evan Marshall
RP Steve Cishek
RP Jace Fry
RP Jimmy Cordero
RP Ian Hamilton (R)
CP Alex Colome

I dont expect 2B Nick Madrigal to make team out of camp but wouldn't be surprised if he pulled it off and was on 30 man roster. Sox will likely be wary of burning off year on 60 game season though

No idea he the closer is at this point with Hicks sitting out. Most likely Giovanny Gallegos.

Tommy Edman will see a lot of playing time at both 3B and RF
