Aurora, On.
Original list is out of date. Mitch Marner has a 10 gamer going on right now.
I have no idea if there are any other current streaks not listed.

Interesting the best point streak from the 93–94 regular season is Andreychuk with 16 games, because Bure had a point streak running 16 games in the playoffs that year (13+10 = 23 points) stretching from game 3 of the first round against Calgary to game 1 of the SCFs against the Rangers. He had at least a point in 22 out of 24 playoff games that year, only missing out registering a point in game 2 against Calgary and game 2 against the Rangers.

What's the longest point streak in Stanley Cup playoffs history?

According to Wikipedia longest NHL playoff point streak is by Bryan Trottier in 1981: 18 games.

That has got to be the only time in playoff history where a player got a point in every game, no? He still didn't win the Conn Smythe either, Goring did.

Thanks for doing this... how in hell did you have time?

I hadn't realized the Gretzky-record of (am I reading this correctly...) 31 straight games with multiple point-games? That is insane. The distance between it and the second-best is crazy.

One general point-streak I also wasn't aware of was Mario Lemieux's 28-game streak in 1985-86. That is also insane, because (a) it was only Mario's second season, and (b) 28 games had been (pre-Gretzky) the NHL record as set by Guy Lafleur, Lemieux's hero.

No, that's not multiple point-game streak. I probably worded it wrong. It's just the total number of point scoring streaks of atleast 10 games the player has done. So Gretzky did 10+ game point scoring streak 31 times in his career.

Ah, got it. Thanks.

Makes me wonder, though... What is the longest multiple-points' scoring streak? (I'm not implying you need to answer it... You've done enough!)

I didn't gather that info when doing that list but a good bet to hold the record is Wayne Gretzky during 1985-86 season with 16 straight multi-point games (17+33=50). Those 16 games were the last 16 of the 39 game overall point scoring streak he did that season.

Yeah, I guess it depends if you count early round exits (1st and 2nd most notably), or if you only count a single playoff run. Otherwise Trottier could have carried his streak into the 1982 playoffs. Or someone with four straight first round exits could (potentially) have a 28 game playoff point streak.

Looks like Wayne's best in this regard was 1988, when he had points in 18 of the 19 games (well, 18.5 games). He was shut out only by Winnipeg in the 2nd game of the first round (as I recall, I think he had the flu early in that series, so that might explain it).

That's pretty crazy, though, that Trotter got points in every game in '81. But I think Bossy (or Potvin?) would have gotten that Conn Smythe if Goring didn't. Trottier kind of front-loaded his scoring with 10 points in the first three games against hapless Toronto. Actually almost half his playoff points were in the first five games (three Toronto, two Edmonton). Bossy had a couple big games in the Finals, anyway.

Nice job compiling this stuff. It's great that all this data is now finally available to fans.

Years ago I manually went through the HSP summaries to find all streaks over 10 games in the 74-75 season, and came across Norm Gratton's 12 game run. It's bizarre that a player with only 35 points that year managed to have a 12 game streak.

The NHL Record Book used to (and maybe still does) give Trottier credit for the longest playoff streak stretching over more than one year. He had 27 straight playoff games with a point if you count the end of '80 and start of '82. Gretzky and Esposito were tied for the second longest at 19 each.

That's indeed one of the strangest point streaks. Another one is Tony McKegney in 1978-79 when he had a 10 game point streak in a season where he scored only 22 points. 15 of his 22 points were scored during that 10 game streak. That's still the record point streak by a Buffalo Sabres rookie.

Mario's big brother Alain had an 11 game point streak in a season where he only played 49 games and scored 28 points. Half of his points that season were scored during that streak.

Bizarre stat of the day: Alain Lemieux's NHL shooting percentage is only 0.6% lower than Mario's.

Ironically, that game 2 against Calgary where Bure was pointless- the Canucks scored 5 goals.

9 Canucks had a point- go figure Jimmy Carson got a point and not the Russian Rocket

I can now confirm that it's that 16 game streak by Gretzky that holds the record for most multi-point games in a row. Here's all multi-point streaks of atleast 10 games:

Code:
16 (17+33=50) Wayne Gretzky, Edmonton Oilers (1985-86)
15 ( 8+36=44) Adam Oates, St.Louis Blues (1990-91)
13 (13+20=33) Mario Lemieux, Pittsburgh Penguins (1985-86)
12*(18+20=38) Mario Lemieux, Pittsburgh Penguins (1992-93)
11 (10+21=31) Denis Savard, Chicago Blackhawks (1987-88)
11 (20+ 8=28) Punch Broadbent, Ottawa Senators (1921-22)
11 (11+15=26) Mike Bossy, New York Islanders (1981-82)
10 (17+16=33) Mario Lemieux, Pittsburgh Penguins (1992-93)
10 (11+22=33) Mario Lemieux, Pittsburgh Penguins (1988-89)
10 (12+18=30) Brent Sutter, New York Islanders (1984-85)
10 ( 8+22=30) Wayne Gretzky, Edmonton Oilers (1986-87)
10 (17+11=28) Bernie Nicholls, Los Angeles Kings (1988-89)
10 (14+14=28) Mario Lemieux, Pittsburgh Penguins (1986-87)
10 ( 9+17=26) Jaromir Jagr, Pittsburgh Penguins (1995-96)

Unofficial 10+ game multi-point streaks:

11 ( 8+22=30) Wayne Gretzky, Los Angeles Kings (1990-91)
