The guys the Flyers count on to be their best players collectively failed to deliver. The Philadelphia top line was badly outplayed on both sides of the puck. On the other side, the Pittsburgh stars shined. Per Meltzer. So true

I'd like to see some big hits early to set the tone and wash out last nights defeat.

Hakstol will change nothing, meaning Sullivan won't have to either. He has Hak utterly figured out. He has for a long time and it's been deeply obvious.

Just wait until we finally score and the Torgo line hits the ice and gives it right back in 22 seconds.

If we have to lose (and its obvious we will) I'd rather it be a four-game blowout sweep. Yeah it sucks, but that's a lot easier to get over than an OT loss in game seven. This isn't our year and it never was.
All hopes hanging on 2019-2020 when we'll know if Carter Hart is the real deal.

They tried the big hit approach in Game 1. Didnt work. Play fast puck pursuit hockey instead.
They played as individuals in game 1. Play as a team. Giroux forechecks the puck carrier while Coots gets close to the guy the puck carrier is going to pass too. Giroux won't get close enough to hit cause the puck carrier passes the puck before the hit. If Coots is close enough to the Pens player as the puck arrives to him he'll get the hit. If Coots isn't close enough then Jake gets close to the player the new Pens player the puck carrier is going to pass to and hits him as the puck arrives. AND when you get the hit don't stop, collect the puck and shoot.

Sullivan clearly tried to match Crosby and Malkin against the Couturier line. So it seems he's not really concerned about the line's new heaviness and grindiness.

Also, Sullivan is not a f***ing coward.
