Players with Slovak blood/roots/ancestry

Hello guys!

Im looking for your help in searching for ANY young icehockey players with roots or any other similiar connection to Slovakia which you may kniw, someone with slovak ancestry like (or with similiar story) Kevin Labanc (Slovak parents) or Alex Tuch (Grandma was from Slovakia), Knies brothers or Paul and Yan Stastny for example, or even players born in Slovakia but have no other connections to Slovakia (born in Slovakia while parents were working/living there). Im trying to put together as many names as possible, as im working on an longer story about it in cooperation with local sports magazine.

It’s hard to say as a lot of names could be Slovak but it’s hard to know if they are, or if they are Czech. Travis Zajac for example.

Do you mean Myklukha? He is a Ukraine descent, born in Poland, playing for Slovakia.

But there were many. For example Taylor Hall (mother). And i think also Scott Niedermayer had something to do with Slovakia. Then Thomas Vanek.

In junior leagues there were (are) many and im sure also unknown players.

Logan´s grandfather was born in Slovakia and moved to Canada with his parents as a child.

Kamil Bednarik - son to Slovak parents Kamil and Miriam (originally from Humenne, east Slovakia), sister Simone also plays ice hockey and is representing Slovakia. Has dual US/SVK citizenship and speaks Slovakian fluently. Cousin is Slovakia youth NT player Kamil Rohal.

Jack Studnicka - Slovak roots, his grandparents were from Slovakia.

Henry Hlinka & Julius Hlinka - sons to former Slovak ice hockey player and current youth hockey coach Martin Hlinka.

Peter Budaj Jr. - son of former NHL and Slovakia National team goaltender Peter Budaj.

Elias & Theodore Carmichael - Carmichael’s dad is from Quebec and his mom is from Slovakia, he grew up speaking both Slovak and French at home fluently.

Landon-Samuel & Jayden Luca Kolnik - sons of Juraj Kolnik, former Slovakia ice hockey player.

Melvin Novotny - son of Boris Novotny, former Slovakia judo wrestler.
