Have you looked at the Eriksson buyout numbers? Eriksson has $20m remaining on his contract. A buyout would save $2m in real dollars because 70% of his remaining contract is in signing bonuses.

Just as bad, a buyout would consume $22m in cap space, compared to the remaining $24m in cap hits on his contract--a saving of less then 10%.

Eriksson's deal is among the most buyout proof contracts in the NHL.
Well hopefully he has a bounce back year..Otherwise I would glue his butt to the press box.

Lehtera would be an ideal candidate here, but we dont really need cap space.

It would be more of a 'go ahead and go back home' kind of move.

Definitely don't see him bought out just to eat into next year's cap number.

But maybe you're on to something and we see him assigned to a team in Europe rather than AHL

Cap isnt too big of an issue either year. Theres going to be so many ELCs on the roster that it wouldn't really matter.

I'm mostly hoping it happens just so our idiot coach doesn't have the ability to play him over better players on the roster.
