Players bought out, then signed to a big contract

Like the title says, I'm wondering if anyone can name a player that had a high cap hit or many years left on his contract that was bought out, signed to another team, preformed well enough that they were signed to another large contract.

My most recent example would be Sam Gagner? Bought out from Arizona, signed a cheap deal with Columbus and did well enough that Vancouver signed him to a ~4 Million caphit for 2 years?

Lecavalier signed 5 years at 4.5 mil after being bought out with 7 years left at 7.27 mil.
Briere signed 2 years at 4 mil after being bought out with 2 years left at 6.5mil.

Lecavalier was bought out and proceeded to have half the league lining up at his doorstep handing him blank cheques for his services. Thankfully, my Flyers won the "Lecavalier sweepstakes" and it did not come back to bite the franchise in the ass at all.

Not the biggest, but one that worked out pretty well for the player:

In 2008, Darcy Tucker was bought out by Toronto after the first year of a four year, $3M AAV contract. He was then signed by Colorado for 2 years at $2.25M AAV. He ended up making more money in 3 years than he'd have done in the original 4.

Wade Redden SHOULD have been bought out pretty much in his last season with Ottawa and still got 6.5.
