Perhaps some interesting facts :)

I'm one of the biggest Vatanen critics, but he's currently 11th in the league in blocked shots. That's pretty impressive, especially since he's like 3 feet tall.

As good as Magnus is, he's 14th in giveaways.:amazed: Getzlaf is 23rd.

Kesler is 3rd in faceoffs won (and 7th in faceoffs lost).

Palmieri is 14th in shooting percentage. Perry is 27th. Silvferberg is 448th

Lindholm is 21st in +/-, Perry is 25th and Beleskey 29th.

Vatanen is 20th in team goals for. Getzlaf is 23rd.

Vatanen is 6th in total PP-time. Getzlaf is 19th.

Silfverberg is 1st in shootout goals.

Getzlaf is 9th in even strenght assists.

Yeah, interesting and yeah weird about Magnus givaways. He plays a lot and with questionable partners so that might something to do with it although he`s like one of the league leaders in givaways
I guess for him it`s the ''learning process'' :)

Interesting. I put almost no stock in giveaways though. It's a stat with no context.

I have yet to understand exactly what a giveaway really is, in terms of when you actually get "credited" with one.

I can watch a player have 4-5 blatant losses of the puck, then I check the stats after the game and he didn't have a single one.

I like fun facts like these. :) My take on these:

I'm one of the biggest Vatanen critics, but he's currently 11th in the league in blocked shots. That's pretty impressive, especially since he's like 3 feet tall.

He leads the league in balls. As much as his shot blocking prowess continues to surprise me, it really shouldn't.

As good as Magnus is, he's 14th in giveaways.:amazed: Getzlaf is 23rd.

As others said, this is an iffy stat to begin with. That aside, I would guess it has much to do with his babysitting of scrubs lately. He's had a tougher time making clean exits of his own zone when playing with those guys.

Kesler is 3rd in faceoffs won (and 7th in faceoffs lost).

No surprise here. Do we win the trade again? He also has the 6th most faceoffs taken, which makes this more impressive. He's been a horse for us.

Palmieri is 14th in shooting percentage. Perry is 27th. Silvferberg is 448th

Sample size. He's been off to a hot start. Like Belskey, he'll come down to a normal rate at some point. Same with Silfver, he won't continue at a 2% rate, he'll eventually start finding the net as his normal ~8% rate.

Lindholm is 21st in +/-, Perry is 25th and Beleskey 29th.
Hampus is just a stud. The others score a lot.

Vatanen is 20th in team goals for. Getzlaf is 23rd.

Vatanen is 6th in total PP-time. Getzlaf is 19th.

Vats has added himself to the the short list of players driving the offensive bus for this team. He's gone from a marginal player to one of the most important. I don't get all the constant debates.

Silfverberg is 1st in shootout goals.

I've been saying this, he might be the best shootout specialist in the league.

Getzlaf is 9th in even strenght assists.

Getzlaf being in any top ten offensive category should be no surprise. He's one of the elite in the game. It's his 54.2% on the dots that has been a big surprise this season. He's rounded out his game in yet another area.

Exactly, and the players that lead the league in giveaways are usually plays that have the puck a ton(Karlsson, Subban, etc.)

As iffy as giveaways are, I (personally) would attribute Lindholm's giveaways to his strength. He's not exactly a big guy and while he has incredible hockey sense and IQ, he can be weak on the puck and gets outmuscled in corners and such. Just a thought.

You missed the most astounding fact of the NHL season.....

As of Dec 14, Matt Beleskey tied for 8th in goals scored. Tied with a couple of scrubs named Perry and Ovechkin.
