Mhyres talks about his years he worked with the Kings organization, talking in confidence, individually with players (and everyone in the org who needed someone to talk to). While he was with the organization, no problems got pushed to GM to have to fix. After his issues, he has the cred to address similar issues that come up. Often used more as a sounding board than "fixing" something.
Myhres would like to see all NHL teams have some one to help employees and players.
Sounds like it was a good investment under the Lombardi GMship, but not pursued after that.
