Given the current roster of the Penguins, how do you think Crosby will finish (1st, 2nd, 3rd ...) in the Penguins scoring race?

he'll play with great players. Will outscore lemieux cuz mario will play only 50 games
my pitts guess:
Name gp goals assists points
Sidney Crosby 75 36 53 89
Mario Lemieux 50 20 55 75
Mark recchi 79 35 40 75
Sergei gonchar 80 21 40 61
ryan malone 82 30 26 56
evgeni malkin(?) 65 15 40 55
that based on higher scoring

Nuclear said:Even with a bunch of ice time, I think as a realist, Crosby will get around 65 points MAX.

Big Phil said:I'd like to wonder if anyone said that about Gretzky in 1979. He was just a skinny kid but that year he ended up winning the hart Trophy and tied Dionne with 137 points. 65 is the minimum Crosby will get. I'd personally be shockd if he wasnt at least around a point per game. My preiction is about 80-90 points. He really is that special IMO
EroCaps said:If Mario plays 70 games, Crosby 70 pts TOPS. But that's not so much a reflection of SC is it?
tom_servo said:Uh, you tell me. Do you just foresee him just feeding off of Lemieux?
I'm with youmonster_bertuzzi said:Its hilarious to read that people think Crosby will score 80+ points as an 18 year old...
It's partly a skill gap with Crosby but it's also a mental gap that makes him a cut above the rest isn't it?EroCaps said:Gretzky played against far inferior players in a different era and was ahead of his time. Even with the rule changes, you're going to be hard-pressed to find a skill-gap that wide ever again in the NHL, IMO.

Most of the comparisons to Gretzky are regarding his uncanny ability to anticipate puck movement and player positioning. That's what makes skilled players great.EroCaps said:How do you figure?
Besides Mario and Sidney Pittsburhg isn't excatcly oozing with high scoring forwards.

No, what I find really funny is guys that were predicting a year ago thatmonster_bertuzzi said:Its hilarious to read that people think Crosby will score 80+ points as an 18 year old...
