Do they not practice this ****? I swear to god there are guys in my beer league who look better in shootouts. I realize they're playing against way ******** goalies but at least they make the goalie make a save. All game long they just scuffed up the glass

the flyers are worse iirc

but just barely

The Flyers are actually substantially worse, but have 1 more shootout win than the 30th place Canes. In 22 more games.

31 shootout wins for the Canes in 10 seasons. When you take away the cup year it's 21 in 9 years, which is just horrific.

Funny thing about that, the Flyers 2010 cup run wouldn't have been possible w/o a Shootout win on the last day of the season.

God help us if this team is ever in that scenario.

This was one of the first games I've been to this year.

Damn. These young guys - Pesce, Slavin, DiG, etc. All composed, in position, determined. I am really impressed with the direction and future of this team.

Also, while the result wasn't the optimal one, I thought the whole team played a really solid game. If anything, they may have been a little too cute when they got inside the blue line instead of just firing pucks at the net. Although, the Pens also did a good job at taking away shooting lanes and they did block plenty of shots.

And 3 on 3 is crazy.

If this wasn't such an important game to win, we'd be talking about what a great performance for the Canes without their best player. completely shut down Crosby without Faulk.

Somehow Philly is worse than us...

Kind of surprised our save% is that high considering Cam usually gets deked out of his pants...but I guess the glass makes a lot of saves.

Very entertaining game last night. The young D held up pretty well without Faulk. I really like Slavin and PDG they are going to be nice NHL players.

The 3 on 3 was the most up and down action, all season, but as soon as it ended I shot out to the parking lot and left KNOWING full well that we were not going to win the SO (I just refuse to watch that garbage skills competition anymore)

Absolutely the same here.

That said I think we had some issues with our transition game last night that we usually don't when Faulk's in the lineup and it hemmed us in to our own zone a few times. I think his presence there and in the PP alone has this one as a 2-1 regulation win for us at worst. That's not to take away from Pittsburgh though, they're playing much better right now then they were earlier this season.
