Edmonton should grab him. Serious. He can play bottom pairing with Kookoo.

If Pens do hold on to him, you should know that during his Montreal heyday he was considered a Bruin killer. Always scored against them. Of course, that was like 8 years ago.

Mentioned in another thread but good on Weber to carve out a career in the NHL as a depth defenseman with around 500 NHL games to his name. That's not easy.

Feels like only yesterday he was playing for the Habs, time flies. He has a cannon of a shot, you wouldn't expect it from how he is built.

It really is kinda crazy impressive that he's managed to accrue that many NHL games.

Especially when, aside from that surprisingly good point shot...the next most remarkable thing about him, is that...uh...he exists? Or that he married Carey Price's sister maybe?

Managing to play 500 NHL games, without ever being particularly good at anything, is quite the achievement.

Is a kinda younger Mark Streit a valid comparison?
Seriously? Mark Streit managed to score more than 60 points as a defenseman, had multiple seasons of 50+ and 40+ points, was the captain of one NHL franchise whom he also lead in points as a defenseman (!!!) one season (2nd best scorer was 17 points behind him), was twice in the top 10 in Norris votes, he was in the regular lineup for pretty much his whole career in the NHL (12 seasons), playing an average of nearly 21 minutes a game for his entire career (including 2 whole seasons at over 25 minutes).

Do you think that he's a valid comparison to Yannick Weber, who in 12 seasons has a career high of 21 points (was in double digits in points only 4 seasons out of 12, and in double digits in goals 1 time), has always been a #6/7 D, playing an average of 14 minutes for his career, and has played ~50% less games than Streit in a similar stretch of 12 seasons?
