I'm not sure Vegas would do it unless they had a deal lined up to flip the pick. That said Nic Roy should not be worth a mid 1st. He's going to be a career bottom 6 center. He's not fast and he doesn't have great hands. Vegas having him as a 4C is a great luxury though.
Dubas is great at finding bottom of the line-up pieces that are cost controlled during UFA. Be patient as help if coming in the likes of Kerfoot and Holl.
Pretty huge overpay from Pittsburgh here. There are plenty of UFA options that can provide what Roy does in a bottom 6 role and Dubas is pretty good at finding those diamonds in the rough. examples: Jarnkrok, Kampf, Bunting.
Overpayment but the problem for Vegas is that if they do this, they end up trading their 1st for a similar player on worse term at the TDL next season.
They need as many of these Swiss army knife guys as they can get.
