Seems pretty bad for the Pens. That third does not make up the difference.

It's not that crazy, but we'd just waste Guentzel. Kane is a great fit for SJ because he doesn't need significant talent around him to produce.

Penguins would need more. Kane is three years older, $1 million more expensive cap hit, and produces a bit less than Guentzel (who is less reliant on Crosby than people think).

I don’t think the Sharks really have a need for Guentzel. He’s obviously a great player but the Sharks aren’t competing any time soon. If the Penguins want to talk futures for Kane, we can definitely have that conversation.
