Marino has been OK your right. The main issue is and has always been the pens need size and grit on the backend. Marino isn't going to produce like letang or MM. He would be ideal paired eith a legit shutdown guy but he doesn't have that option in Pitt amd its hurt his play. He can do everything just nothing especially well. With Dumo not having a great year either it has created some issues on the back end. Pettersen has been a healthy scratch and the 7th guys have actually been better.

In the games I've seen from him against the wings he's looked really poor and tends to turn over the puck.

This is kind of an amazing deal. This is near Slavin/Pesce levels of incredible value when you consider the early returns from Marino this past season.
