Not really sure what order I'd put the pairs and lines in, but something like this:

Hull-Gretzky-Jagr (Gretzky-Jagr is probably the best playmaking pair possible, and a monster finisher who is also mean enough to keep them safe)
Ovechkin-Lemieux-Rocket (Lemieux with two guys that can skate with him and finish like crazy, and like Hull Ovi is a bit of an enforcer role on this line)
Kharlamov-Larionov-Makarov (an upgraded version of the greatest line we've ever seen)
Firsov-Esposito-Howe (this old timer line won't apologize for hanging 5 goals and 3 injuries on kids these days)

Orr-Lidstrom (you could argue breaking these two up I guess)
Fetisov-Bourque (Fetisov is as good as anyone ever and Bourque is the guy I want running my PP)
Harvey-Shore (Shore is admittedly a player from well before my time, but based on everything I've seen and read I think this pair might be the best of the three)

Older players like Howe or Richard are considered in their prime if you pick them. You can play centres on wings and vice versa if you like.

1st line: Gordie Howe-Gretzky-Lemieux
Orr-Coffee

2nd line: Lafontaine-Richard-Bure
Bourque-Chara

3rd Line: Bobby Hull-Henry Richard-Brett Hull
Pronger-Tim Horton

4th Line: F Mahalvalic-Ovi-Lafleur
Big Bird (Larry Robinson)-Niedermayer

Goalies-Sawchuk
Brodeur
Roy

Spares-Messier, Scot Stevens.

That is an undefeatable team. Will beat the living hell out of you on the boards, intimidate, out skate and out skill anyone.

Lets see your team.
F
Ovi--Lemieux--Jagr---------size ,skill, PP,,,snipers and passers

I really like the love/respect here for Doug Harvey.... Six Cups, seven Norris trophies.

He is in the top four with Orr, Lidstrom and whoever or you aren't doing it right.

That 4th line is nasty. That 4th line rips everyone apart. I wanted to get Mikita into my line up because he is my favourite player and tool.

I agree. He didn't make my team because I am old and forgetful.

Current NHL players can barely keep up to Mcdavid. Past NHL players would just be cones.
Nope.
Fastest player in history for the skills competition is Dillan Larkin. And he beat Gartner to take over that record. Rocket Richard and Bobby Hull would beat McDavid. And many would say Bure was the fastest of all time. No way to tell really. Peter Bondra and Guy Lafleur would be skating right with McDavid. To be honest, McDavid isn't even the in the list for top 10 fastest skaters. And I like McDavid. I have his rookie card, so its not a biased opinion on him. He just wasn't in the top 10 list. The hockey news did a thing. Here is the link. https://thehockeywriters.com/top-12-fastest-skaters-nhl/

No one in the history of the sport of hockey can do what Mcdavid can do. Peak, he is the best player ever at playing the game of hockey.

Winning cups is great. However, it doesn’t make a player better at hockey. It just means their team was better during that year than other teams.
