Nonsense thread. With caphits it would give a better perpective for an interesting discussion.

Like, find 6 players for every position from our team which are same aged, better, and with same or smaller caphit.

Nothing worth talking about until pre-season. Give me all the nonsense you got until that point.

Okay, I'll complete that idea on my first post and change 6 players, one for every position, like feel is better and at same age group and with ~same level of caphit than our current player.

RW Johan Franzen, +35 year old
3.955M caphit
<>
RW Jaromir Jagr, 44 year old
3.500M caphit
---------------------------
C Henrik Zetterberg, 34 year old
6.081M caphit
<>
C Joe Pavelski, 31 year old
6.000M caphit
-------------------------
LW Gustav Nyquist, 26 year old
4.750M caphit
<>
LW Max Pacioretty, 26 year old
4.500M caphit
------------------------
D Mike Green, 29 year old
6.000M caphit
<>
D Brent Burns, 30 year old
5.760M caphit
--------------------------
D Kyle Quincey, 30 year old
4.25M caphit
<>
D Marc-Edouard Vlasic, 28 year old
4.25M caphit
-------------------------------
G Jimmy Howard, 31 year old
5.2M caphit
<>
G Roberto Luongo, 36 year old
5.33M caphit

Looks like San Jose has some good contracts. Found three guys from there.

Really? No love for Stamkos?!

Well, anyway, I'd pick:

Crosby (Call him crybaby if you like, but he is flatout the best playmaker in the game)
Ovechkin (Just the best power-forward those days)
Stamkos (flatout best pure goal scorer in the game)

Karlsson (Dude has it all. Offense in bunches, solid defense, skating...)
Weber (Just like that guy. One of my favorite D)

Goalie is tough. Still not a huge fan of Price. Perhaps Lundqvist or Rask or Bishop....

Yeah, kind of. Stamkos is a great individual, but imo, for real winning hockey team, he is not THE MAN to go.

Like we have seen for years, greatest 1st line centers are almost always two-way guys, who can shut down opponents and at same time, are very tough to be shut down. Usually, these guys are also great playmakers. Stamkos ain't either, he looked like a guy who was very easy to shut down at last playoffs.

Imo, Stamkos is a perfect winger like Ovechkin, goal-scoring sniper, who will need a Datsyuk/Zetterberg/Kopitar/Toews/Getzlaf level center to get everything out of himself as an individual. Stammer also sucks at faceoffs, so maybe the center position isn't the greatest fit for him. And at Tampa, when they tried him as a winger, he was playing with Filppula at best, which is like playing with a 2nd liner.

Be fun to see another Russian 5 though I don't know if that same style of Soviet play still exists:
Ovechkin, Malkin, Tarasenko
Markov, Tyutin
Varlamov

I get there are sexier and younger options out there now, but there's still not a defensive tandem in the league I'd take over Weber and Suter. Both guys are big, physical, great passing, great shots, great offense. You're getting the total package with both players.
