Bert's bread and butter is the fact that most guys cannot push him off the puck and he is very talented along the boards keeping the puck to himself. I like seeing with my play makers like Dats or even Alfie, he opens up the ice for them, creates a physical presence that is needed with a high caliber player on the ice, and can screen the goalie well. He doesn't need hands of gold, just to play with someone who does.
I know he has been playing better, but it isn't like the Wings don't know Steve Mason about as well as any team. If you score more than two goals on him he has lost every contest that has happened this year.
