Confidence is key with him, he's still learning the NHL level and have hopes he can still become a late blooming 2nd line forward.
He'll never be a line driver but more of a complimentary winger

You'll like his shot (hasn't been accurate enough) and he has underrated playmaking skills.
Can throw the body around and has above average speed but he does nothing at an elite level.
Only thing close would be the shot, needs to keep improving it.

Imagine trading the best player in your franchises last 30 or so years, and the piece you target in the trade to get back is a one-dimensional winger who signs for 1.5 million.

Fletcher is such a bottom.
For as bad as Fletcher has been thus far, this was more on Holmgren giving Giroux a NMC during the last year of his recently expired contract. Giroux backed Fletch into a corner by only agreeing to waive for one team. I mean at least we got a something for Giroux. Thankfully Fletcher didn’t back the next (hopefully soon) GM into the same corner by getting Couturier to agree to a M-NTC in the last year of his deal instead of a full NMC. The Flyers really need a new ownership group that has the balls to clean house in the management department before having any hope of being relevant anytime soon. Otherwise, the dinosaurs currently in charge will continue running the ship into the ground. Dark days ahead in Comcast County.

Maybe Fletcher shouldn't have torpedo'ed the teamto the bottom of the standings and we wouldnt have to worry about that NMC anyway, since we wouldnt be selling off the best player to wear the sweater in decades?

Martin St louis also had a one team trade list, if im not mistaken. You can still get decent value for great players. Theres also a lot of rumors about Giroux being more than willing to open up his list of teams if he Fletcher agreed to sign him back this summer. Take those for what they're worth.

All of this ignores the fact that Fletcher has said that Tippett was the piece he wanted all along. Hes a terribly poor evaluator of talent - among other things.

You have the best mascot of all time, so something has to balance it out.

I thought this was interesting, although I do think it may just be coincidence.

Wasn't the best player in the last 30 years.

How do you know he was targeted? Cant possible be Zito had him over a barrel and Owen was pretty much all he offered up. That is a possible scenario no?

That being said Chuck is a terrible GM.
