I wanted to bring this over from the last page of the previous thread.

Thanks Hiesenberg and Cordell!

Very impressive that Konecny is posting better numbers than Zacha despite being on the same team. Who knows how much Better Konecny's numbers would look if he were with Sarnia all season?

my one wish is that Konecny never gets another concussion, seeing as that is partly the reason he fell to us

We all hope none of the prospects get hurt. It doesn't need to be said.

Sarnia scored 7 goals tonight but Konecny only factored into one of them. Not something you see every day.

They're chugging along since the deadline. They're right there with London for top records since the deadline in the OHL.

Provorov is going to end with 100 points. I don't know how, but he's going to do it.

It's crazy how Sanheim and Provorov have done.

Hicketts is the only other guy over a PPG...and he is just 1 point over.

Provorov is 12 points over and Sanheim is 15!

Speaking of Sanheim, has 1 point so far as does Fazleev.

Get them both on the Flyers right now!

Post game threads get so wacky, and the actual game threads are worse.

Their 2010 was pretty good. Brayden Schenn, Travis Hamonic, Matt Calvert, Mark Stone, etc. were some notable players from that team that went on to the NHL.

It was the first Memorial Cup tournament I ever watched. I still remember Hamonic leveling Taylor Hall's head into the dasher on one of the first plays of a game.

Is anyone worried at all that if we manage to get in the playoffs they're going to be even more conservative about bringing young guys up?

I mean it took like a month for them to give Weal a chance, even though Umberger hadn't contributed anything offensively, just because we won a few games in a row.

If winning a few regular season games made Hakstol afraid to scratch a snakebitten Umberger, will going to the playoffs make him think guys like White/Vandevelde are the reason for our success? Will we have to wait another year for Konecny/Leier/whoever to get a look?

NNot worried at all. Ultimately, we need to add Konecny and 1 more top 9 player and then we could push Raffl and Read to the "4th" line. That would make that line much better and really, more suited to how Hak likes to use them. I do wish Hextall would remove VDV as an option though.

But that line did great in keeping Detroit pinned in their zone. But if our new 4th line next year was Raffl PEB and Read, that is a good 4th line. And then the 3rd line would be for youngsters how yes, get sheltered a bit, but will develop over time.

The 1979 Wheaties were even better, four first rounders, Brian Propp, Ray Allison, Laurie Boschman and Brad McCrimmon,(the Flyers had three of them at one time or another) in arguably the best draft class since expansion. Propp scored something like 94 goals and 100 assists. I still can't believe they didn't win the Memorial Cup, when Peterboro beat them 2-1 in OT to win the Pete's first M cup. That Brandon had something like 3 or 4 other guys who were drafted and had a cup of coffee in the NHL.

If we make the playoffs it will be thanks to Ghost, whom Hakstol has had no trouble playing every night for close to 20 minutes a game. Young guys will play and play a lot if they're good enough.

And Umberger has been scratched ever since Couturier came back. It's clear to me he didn't want to take Umberger's size out of the lineup when Coots was injured.

So a few Craig Button related stuff. Was going through some of his replies on questions and a few interesting ones came up:

The Provorov thing isn't new. Most of us think he will be in the NHL next season.

On the 2nd tweet, we know Craig is high on Myers, but do we officially start considering him as one of our top prospects, specifically D prospects? Like when we talk "our top D prospects" it was always Ghost (used to be till he "graduated"), Sanhiem, Provorov & Morin. I guess it might be time to now include the name Myers in that list... I always considered Hagg, Friedman, Alt, etc to be in that second tier.
