So the league takes their stance on zero contact with goalies. Perry gets a large portion of his goals from the crease area.

Does that hurt his production?
Has Perry even gotten within 5 feet of the opponents goalie crease all year?

Is this slump like the Pujols slump last year? At some piint it gets into his mind? Trying to play a complete game, avoid penalties, yet suffering in the scoring department?

Is the contract weighing him down? Do the ducks lowball offer him and he takes it personally and feels betrayed?

Did he get someone pregnant?

Did he tell his agent he is walking at the end of the year, and as a side effect, he cant seem to muster the effort to care about this season?

Perry has been struggling with puck control. His main reason for not scoring seems to be his hands just aren't there yet. You do make a good point, though. Perry should crash the net a bit more. Maybe a lucky bounce could get him going.

Is this slump like the Pujols slump last year? At some piint it gets into his mind? Trying to play a complete game, avoid penalties, yet suffering in the scoring department?

Pujols moved to another league and was clearly not in shape to start the season. Perry will be fine, he just needs time to get his hands back.

Is the contract weighing him down? Do the ducks lowball offer him and he takes it personally and feels betrayed?

I doubt the Ducks lowballed Perry. A strong and confident Corey Perry is what the Ducks want the most. Now, if he doesn't pick up the scoring soon, how of much that affects the negotiations remains to be seen. Regardless, the Ducks will spend if the have to for a key player like Perry.

If Perry planned to walk, it would not benefit him to play poorly. That just means less money may be offered when he is a UFA. The best thing to do with Perry is wait it out and hope for his hands to return. If he is still struggling and it appears that he will not resign, then the Ducks will trade him at the deadline for max value.

If Perry is traded, we will get awesome return. If he is not traded and returns to form, then we have more 30-50 goal seasons on the horizon. Win-Win situation for the Ducks.
