Pittsburgh
Twelve games ago, I posited that the Penguins would get 23 points in the 18 games before Christmas, approximately a 10-5-3- record. The Penguins have gone 9-2-1 in those twelve games, meaning that they need to get four points, or approximately a 1-3-2 record, to match my prediction.
I'm pleased that they're on track to beat my prediction by quite a bit.

I still can't believe we got Rakell locked for six years at 5 million and didn't even need to trade a first round pick for him.
As for the game... let's hope the Sabres will try to avenge Skinner with extracurriculars rather than expose our aging team. Or that DeSmith stands on his head. Or we can get inspiration and annihilate them with offense. I don't know, I have given up trying to guess which Penguins team will show up on any given night.

Why would the Sabres be avenging Skinner? He's the one who crosschecked someone in the face and is going to get suspended.

well, Buffalo was destroying us for two periods last night and if it wasn’t for some good work on the PP and Jarry, we would have been down more than one goal….I haven’t been impressed with CDS lately, but we’ll need him to play his best tonight to have any chance lol…

RW was there in person last night and this summary is pretty much what I saw from my tv…Sabres speed was destroying the Pens, particularly our D men, but they were unable to keep it up for three periods…Dumo was particularly atrocious…lol

This is not the first time this happens, although I think we almost always come back since no team can play like that and win all 50 50 picks for 60 minutes. When you have Geno and Sid you always have a shot

It’s weird that the team with “speed” gave up more odd man chances. I realistically only see two slow players on this team and they are Dumo and Petry and Petry is smart enough to make up for his lack of speed.

Nah, Id say the reverse: the only D man we have who pops with his speed is POJ and he just looks fast in comparison lol…some players like Petts and at times Petry can make up for it with their positioning or reach but Buffalo was all over our D overall for two periods which is why we were dominated in shot totals and in all the advanced analytics

No rational reason, of course, but you can say that for most of the extracurricular in the NHL, so...

From the PGT @Gurglesons

Not huge on Dumoulin but he still is proving his worth on the PK. That being said I wouldn’t be opposed to strengthening our LD if possible with him moving out.

Yeah, but the issue is that he also got nearly 18min at EV. POJ barely got 11min at EV.

Dumo should be a 3rd pairing PK specialist. At least until POJ shows he can't handle being 2LD.

Meh. I think people are really overblowing the speed factor in last night’s game and I think the fact we completely took it to them in P3 and the fact we were regularly springing guys for breakaways proves it. But whatever narrative you want to believe in.
