TONIGHT’S GAME

Pittsburgh enters tonight’s game owning the most home wins in the NHL this season (17). The Penguins have not lost at CONSOL Energy Center since Nov. 13. They enter this contest riding a 10-game home winning streak. With a win tonight, the Penguins will equal the second-longest home winning streak in franchise history (Jan. 5-March 7, 1991).
During their 10-game home win streak, the Penguins have outscored foes, 38-20; allowed just two opposition power-play goals (29-for-31; 93.5%); and gone 8-for-29 (27.6%) on the man-advantage.
Since dropping their first two home games of last season, the Penguins have gone 35-7 (.833 pct.) over their last 42 home contests.

NHL scoring leader Sidney Crosby has stepped up to help keep the Penguins near the top of the NHL standings despite the team
playing nine of its last 12 games without the services of Evgeni Malkin and several other front-line players.
In the nine games Crosby has played without Malkin, he has 17 points (4G-13A). More impressively, he has factored into 53% of the
Penguins’ goals (17 of 32) in the nine games Malkin has missed. Pittsburgh’s record in those nine contests is 6-3.
With his assist at New Jersey on Dec. 31, Crosby has at least one point in 16 of his last 18 contests.
