That's how media changed years and years ago. Shock jock/clicks = more than credibility and good journalism. Definitely not just Pittsburgh. That is just today's media altogether whether it's sports, politics, or anything.
Oh sure. The cities where it tends to hold on a little better are huge cities with a bigger variety of coverage so the competition helps that a bit.
But it's silly to rail against the media without railing against the market that makes it possible, y'know? Like if more sports fans bought great, thoughtful analysis, then there wouldn't be the market pressures to do the dumb **** that the Pittsburgh media does.
But they don't. So, it's just not worth it, if you want to run a business.
