The NHL says Pavel had only 56 takeaways? ********! I guarantee he had a lot more than that, not to mention how many turnovers/takeaways were the result of his relentless fights for the puck.

I've watched Bergeron and Toews. They are nowhere near the defensive forward that Dats is.

That 56 Datsyuk takeaways is league high number. Together with Toews (56).

Bergeron had only 23.

imo, bergeron is better, especially on PK.

i don't think takeaways are especially important. toews' number is very likely inflated by chicago's home statkeepers.

2013 chicago home: 312
2013 chicago road: 155

2012 chicago home: 450
2012 chicago road: 325

2011 chicago home: 495
2011 chicago road: 269

some teams (NYI, colorado, chicago) have much more at home. a few teams (pittsburgh, anaheim, LAK) have more on road.

in 2010, NYI recorded 712 takeaways at home (next highest team had 593), but had only 236 on road.

in 2010, pittsburgh recorded only 141 at home, and had 247 on road.
