Still has many years to go. One of the most skilled of his era, congrats Kane.

Remember it as yesterday when Toews, kane and Backstrom battled it out for the Calder =)

Time flies..

A fun coincidence is that this happened in a game against Patrick Laine. Laine's favorite player growing up was Patrick Kane since they have almost the same name, except for the L and the K and the silent i in Kane. And just a few minutes after Kane got his 1000th point Patrick Laine got some motivation back and was able to score a goal.

Laine has said that he would like to play with his childhood idol some day. Wouldn't it be sweet if the Blackhawks was able to trade Toews to Winnipeg in order to get Laine? Then Toews could return back to his home town and help them win the cup. While the Blackhawks would get a elite sniper to play with Kane. Both Toews and Laine would get the chance they need to rejuvenate their careers!

Clear #4 of his era and, IMO, clear Top 5 in the Cap era, arguably Top 10 in the post Wayne/Mario era (players who started in the late 80s onwards. Solid Top 100 of all-time.

Silly me. I must have misread the thread title. I thought this was the Kane 1000 point thread. Not yet ANOTHER thread whining about how Malkin didn’t make some arbitrary list that means nothing.

Yes Malkin deserved to be on the list. Now shut the f*** up about it already. This list happened 3 years ago lol. It’s really not that important

Greatest Chicago Blackhawk of all time

Really? Ahead of Mikita, Phil Esposito and Hall?

Lmao. He’s easily in the top 10 wingers to ever play

He's the 90th player to hit 1000pts, and he's only 47pts above p/pg. Easily isn't the word to use, he's arguably near the top 10, but let's see what happens on the downslope of his career.

Keep in mind Henri Richard had over 1000pts, 10 All-Star games (back when it mattered) and won 11 Cups, pretty sure he's not too high on anyones list of great anything.

Stanley cup - 2010, 2013, 2015
Conn smythe - 2013
Hart - 2016
Art Ross - 2016

Bolded doesn't really mean anything. Ones a BS list. The other is from an era where the All-Star game is a kids show, you don't have to actually earn an invite.

LOL, no.

Greatest ever was Bobby Orr.
Greatest winger was Bobby Hull
Greatest on the teams he played for is Jonathan Toews.

You can call Kane the best American to play for the franchise, but he isn't the best ever.

Now before I hear the cries, remember, most of you didn't know Orr played for the Blackhawks. And most of you think I meant to say Brett and want to correct me that that Hull never played in Chicago. And finally, that a 2nd line 1 dimensional winger does more for a team than a 1st line 2 way elite centre.

Orr may have been the best player to put on the jersey, but in no way was he the greatest blackhawk of all time, that's absurd.

Orr played a whopping 26 games for the Hawks at the end of his career. He was a legend in Boston, but that doesn't make him the best Hawk.

Bobby Hull topped out at 1170pts in the NHL, a record Kane will likely break, despite playing in an era where points are noticeably harder to come by.

And while I love Toews and felt he was the better player during the cup runs, Kane has absolutely passed him (and Keith) as the best player on the team.

Kane and Toews have frequently been separated to help spread out scoring. It is the only reason Kane is on the 2nd line. The fact Kane had more points than any NHLer last decade should be enough evidence that he's not a 2nd liner.

Very impressive how durable he is. Aside from that broken collarbone (which he recovered from super quickly....) he hasn't missed much time at all.

Kane is best Hawk ever IMO

His postseason performances put him ahead of Hull and Mikita honestly

If we are being truthful Mikita and Hull were underachievers as were those Hawks. They also choked away 71 SCF

To only win one cup during their run hurts them in comparison to Kane/Toews/Keith era

Lol what did Bobby Orr do with Chicago?

As for Toews well that is a bit of a joke I don't really see an argument for him over Kane...the very best even in his prime for him is being equal...and I think even then Kane had a clear edge.

The past few years have really exposed Toews as a complimentary player who needs elite players to play with...he is able to produce now as he gets to play Kane mostly...and because Toews' two way game is almost non existent he is now one dimensional

Kane actually earned his though. And it's only a BS list due to a few omissions (like Malkin) It was pretty spot on.
