H. Jay Feaster Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Field of General Management

It's that Time of Year Again, boys!

It's time to vote for the GM of the Year Award!

The Procedure, if anyone doesn't remember:

1. Pick your top 5 candidates who you think should win the award. Some categories you may want to base it off:

* 2018-19 Trading History
* Results in the standings
* Activity
* Is their team off better than they were the season before?
* Did the GM achieve what they were wanting to do? (i.e.: make playoffs, win championship, buy to make a cup run, ect)

Of course, do not solely base it off the list I posted, if you feel someone deserves a vote based on something, go ahead!

2. Please PM me.
3. Please do not vote for yourself.
4. Explanations on why you chose that particular GM is helpful but not needed. :)

Once everyone sends in their top five, everyone will then revote for their #1 candidate based on who got the most votes (top five).

I'd like to have all votes in by this Friday and at the latest, Sunday! that way round two of voting will be completed by the end of the playoffs. :)

Notice:

For those who have limited PM capabilities based off of infractions, please message me on the yahoo chat. Message me privately, don't tell me in the league chat!

CFHF Fantasy League Playoff Preview:
(1) GoodFellas vs. (8) Hamilton Slackberry
goodfellas.png
vs.
slackberry.png
GoodFellas: 187-89-18 (392 pts.) First in the Loob Division
Hamilton Slackberry: 148-125-21 (316 pts.) Second in the Vernon Division
Season series: GoodFellas 7-6-1
Playoff history: This marks the third time in five seasons that the GoodFellas franchise has made it to the post-season, and their first time doing so in pole position. They have never escaped the second round. Hamilton Slackberry made the finals in the league’s inaugural season, but last made the dance three years ago, bowing out in the first round.
GoodFellas roster notes: GoodFellas will be without Jack Eichel for two big games due to suspension, and still eagerly awaits the return of David Pastrnak.
Hamilton Slackberry roster notes: Filip Forsberg is currently out, but it appears that his return is imminent. Marcus Johansson could easily miss the entire matchup.
(2) The Terrors vs. (7) Pingu H.C.
terrors.png
vs.
pingu.png
The Terrors: 181-96-17 (379 pts.) Second in the Loob Division
Pingu H.C.: 151-125-18 (320 pts.) Third in the Loob Division
Season series: The Terrors 11-1-2
Playoff history: The Terrors make it to the playoffs for the fourth year in a row, and play a team other than the Flaming Horseheads in the first round for the first time in franchise history. Given recent history, this must come as a relief. The Terrors hope to surpass the second round for the first time. Meanwhile, Pingu H.C. has made the playoffs for the first time in franchise history, and deserves thorough congratulations.
The Terrors roster notes: Both Evander Kane and Milan Lucic are currently day-to-day, and no word has been given on the timeline for their return. The Terrors will hope sooner than later.
Pingu H.C. roster notes: Josh Morrissey is out long-term and will miss the playoffs, which is unfortunoot for Pingu H.C.. Tomas Tatar is the only other current loss, but his flu should go away soon.
(3) Wheeling Dusters vs. (6) Grim Reapers
dusters.png
vs.
reapers.png
Wheeling Dusters: 175-97-22 (372 pts.) First in the McDonald Division
Grim Reapers: 156-120-18 (330 pts.) First in the MacInnis Division
Season series: Grim Reapers 7-6-1
Playoff history: The Wheeling Dusters have now made the playoffs in four of the past five seasons, and have had the displeasure of losing at every possible stage of the post-season. They hope to complete the cycle with a championship this year. The Grim Reapers became the first franchise to earn two championships by beating the Dusters in 2015, but that is also their most recent appearance in the playoffs.
Wheeling Dusters roster notes: Derek Stepan is out of action, and will likely miss the entire post-season. Other than that, the Dusters are fully healthy.
Grim Reapers roster notes: The only injury on the Reapers’ roster is to Ryan Murray, who has been out for nearly a month with an undisclosed injury.
(4) Flaming Horseheads vs. (5) Flaming Wings
horseheads.png
vs.
wings.png
Flaming Horseheads: 176-103-15 (367 pts.) First in McDonald Division
Flaming Wings: 168-108-18 (354 pts.) Second in the MacInnis Division
Season series: Flaming Horseheads 7-6-1
Playoff history: Bob Hartley was still the Flames’ head coach the last time the Flaming Horseheads were eliminated in this league. With back-to-back championships and three in the last five seasons, they are to be regarded as favourites until proven otherwise. Of course, the last time the Horseheads didn’t win the Championship, the Flaming Wings did. They look to win their first series since accomplishing the feat in 2016.
Flaming Horseheads roster notes: The Horseheads enter the playoffs with a completely healthy roster.
Flaming Wings roster notes: Mats Zuccarello is out for the playoffs, but two other players who are currently injured, Dylan Larkin and Zach Aston-Reese, may not miss any time at all in this series.

Welcome everyone to the 2019 CFHF Draft Lottery Results Show & Concert. We have an exciting day ahead of us featuring interviews with your favorite GMs, an in house special musical guest, and of course the main attraction; me, James Duthie. Our master of ceremonies Bill Daly will join us shortly to reveal the 12th Overall pick, he is currently sorting out an issue with the photocopier making draft cards for this year. Always so prepared Bill.

Thrilled to be here, James. I've got the draft cards ready to go. I dropped them heading up the stairs, hopefully the GMs don't mind them being in a random order.

So, looks like the 12th Overall pick in the 2019 CFHF Prospect Draft & Charity Event belongs to:

Hypnotoad's All Blacks

Which means the Wu-Tang Killa Beez own the 12th Overall pick.

Looks like Franson has momentarily misplaced his phone. We will see if we can get him on the line a little bit later.

In the meantime here is a plug for my new book, it's all about what it's like sitting on the left side of a table:

We will be back shortly to reveal the 11th Overall pick.

Lets get back to it James, we need to hurry this along so I don't miss second breakfast.

I am pleased to reveal that the 11th Overall pick in the 2019 CFHF Draft & Carnival for the Nearsighted belongs to:
