Every man should to free to decide how and where he lives his life and under what terms. Some people prefer a socialist environment where most things are done for them but they have a little say. Some people prefer a communist environment where they have virtually no say. And some of us prefer to be totally free and live and die by our own decisions. The NHL has turned into a socialist league where teams have to comply to a CBA and a CAP. In socialist settings things tend to even out over time and no one is much better than any one else - parity. Because you lose your initiative and you get slapped every time you step outside of the box. Again over time the best do not flourish and become the best they can be.

I would rather have a few teams which make the right moves, draft well and can resign their guys to build greatness. It gives hope and ambition to the other teams in what to strive for. It forces the weaker teams to greatness if they want to compete. In other words everything gets better. Today we have a system where everyone gets forced into the mean. No one can really build greatness long term. It is at best a short term thing and you have to get massively lucky at that.

I hope to hell you’re either under 20 or older than 80.

Because you talk about socialism and communism like someone who read about both on the side of a cereal box.

What you “think” your political belief is would be liberalism, but when you talk about what you think is a “fair” society is actually just socialism bordering on capitalist facism paired with an unregulated market.

It really is amazing how naive people are about the fundamentals of society.

You want to live in a world where there’s a toll booth at every stop sign and believe you only pay the toll corporation because you choose not because you have to.

In a completely anti-socialist, pro-capitalist society you do not get public infrastructure, there’s zero accountability, no cops, no military, no fraternity. And very quickly no freedom because the country is a hollow shell and anyone can come take it for their own.

It makes zero sense but you just go on believing that for absolutely no reason, people would still work together to keep things running great out of some greater belief in something... but omg omg that’s Socialism! Ahh!!

Well... seems panic is setting in... McLellan fired. Yeo fired...

Two teams that are a 4 game winning streak from being in the playoffs...

Every market that the league is in is a "correct" market, or at least "correct enough". The problem lies in arena/ownership. There are up to 36 total viable markets right now.

Bettman and his ilk will always subvert Canadian markets and it's fans. I would prefer the NHL be more like European soccer where teams can sign and develop anybody they can rather than be gifted players because they are shit. The fact the Penguins got both Lemieux and Crosby makes me sick.
