Big game for Price! But relax, it's pre-season. If he only wins one game all pre-season but it's the last game before the season starts we will be fine.... :sarcasm:

So according to the lines at camp so far:

Drouin - Domi - Armia
Byron - Suzuki - Scherbak
Agostino - Peca - Grenier
Teasdale - McCarron - Bitten

Benn - Petry
Reilly - Lernout
Ouellet - Brook

Price
Niemi
So I take it Vejdemo, Alain, Fleury, McNiven, Addison, Audette, and Ward haven't played yet. The players that were on Roster C at camp, about a handful of guys on AHL/ECHL contracts won't play for sure.

Also, there are some reports that say that Habs will make cuts on Thursday (or maybe after tomorrow's game).

I think it's nice to give some players some pre-season games but the Habs have too many question marks in our forward group. It's smart to make cuts early and experiment with NHL players and who they fit with. Looking at our roster and without Patch and Galchenyuk, who is familiar with each other here? The focus should be line chemistry

Exaclty! and the top 9 is really scary.
To be frank if we win that I will more than impressed.
They really have a complete top 9 and top 4 Def

Same here. Not expecting us to win but I'd like to see the potential with several players. I don't care if Price allows 3 or 4 goals but I'd like to see him not allow any soft goals. It's been a problem.

When you look at the Panthers line-up, they are top heavy compared to the Habs (full rosters and not half rosters). Our full line-up is more balanced. I can see the Habs competing against the Panthers once we ice a full roster but man, this looks like the Panthers full line-up already.

That is what the advantage of their preseason schedule this year will give them for that. Tonight and tomorrow is their only back-to-back preseason games. After this, they play Saturday, Monday, Wednesday, and then Saturday again. They will be able to make cuts earlier and build chemistry and get a lot more practice time to work on this new system Claude is looking to implement.

Armia posted in front of the net. Drouin on the left circle. Scherbak on the right circle. Petry and Domi surely on the blue line.

Dumb question by that guy honestly, as if drouin wouldnt be on the left boards anymore

eeeeeveryone should be wondering whos on the right side, tonight theyre saying Scherbak, i hope he can shine there, because galchenyuk was an absolute monster there

why is Grenier on the Third line ?
would have prefer to see a good player on the third so we can see how Good Peca is. he will have difficulty to prove much with grenier and Agostino on his line..

really don't get the Grenier there, he is so slow and big for a fast line like that.

Peca definitely has a legitimate chance to make the NHL roster. But if not, Agostino - Peca - Grenier becomes the top line in Laval. So it makes sense that they put them together. Also, at the scrimmage on Sunday. Peca was playing with them as well and he still was a stand out.

Last game, Chaput was on a line with DLR and Froese. Not much to think of. But when everyone is looking for DLR to be a stand out, it was Chaput who stood out while DLR was okay and Froese was just another body. In the end, even if one guy is on a line with "lesser" skilled guys, they still have to find a way to stand out individually.

I think Peca will still stand out even if he's with Agostino and Grenier.

And also, keep in mind, it's almost assured that when Agostino and Grenier get cut, Peca will stick around. So he will eventually play with better players.

I wouldn't feel confident about making the team if I was McCarron looking at the lineup for tonight. Byron-Suzuki-Scherbak could be a 3rd line though.

Players I'm going to be watching tonight:

Domi - maybe he can be the full time center for this line. I don't want Drouin there. Looks like moving him to the wing has reaped benefits already. Reports are he's flying.
Suzuki - need I explain why
Armia - I'm wondering if MB finally got that diamond in the rough he thought he got with Weber. Imagine Armia becoming a bonafide top 6 right winger.
Peca - hopefully he can be a go0d #4 or #3 center.
Scherbak - I want this kid to finally strut his stuff. Injuries ave hampered him over the years.

McCarron will get one last shot with Bouchard in Laval this year. I highly doubt he gets claimed on waivers. I'd love to see McCarron move to RW. Depth is lacking on RW in Laval and that's where McCarron should of been from the get go.

If they're going to use a left shot (Drouin) on the left boards...then they can't use Petry, a righty, on the point.

It takes away the threat of the one timer, unless Drouin makes the difficult pass across to Scherbak...but of course, any team who scouts properly will realize that with a righty on the point (Petry), they don't have to play high, so they'll eliminate the cross ice pass to the right half wall player (in this scenario, it's Scherbak).

.....................Petry
Scherbak...................Drouin

......................Armia

Domi

The PP would be a lot more effective and less predictable if the point man had a left shot, i'd definitely try Reilly there.

Yeah Galchenyuk was truly excellent, him and his 9 powerplay goals last year. He was certainly the best we had though!

I think Moravcik hasn't played yet either if I'm not mistaken. I hope we see him on Thursday.

So Price and Niemi will share the net. Play half a game each. Meanwhile, Luongo will play the first 40 minutes and Hutchison will play the 3rd period.
