Was probably the best goaltender at development camp in July. Played 30 minutes of shutout hockey during the scrimmage, though he wasn't tested very often. He's got decent size and a championship pedigree. Given Florida's lack of a 2nd-round pick this year and the overall state of their goaltending pool, I like the move.
Boston's Matt O'Conner is the most coveted undrafted NCAA goalie at the moment, but a high price tag and numerous other suitors probably kept Florida away.

AHL or ECHL. Wouldn't be surprised if he competes with Brittain for the starting role in Portland. I'm not sure if Houser will be re-signed.

Yep, he's had a good spurt, still not a guarantee though with Brittain and now Stevens. Cowley also likely coming up in a year.

I wouldn't say its solid. Its just barely respectable. Without Stevens it would be pretty bad.

Bc from what i felt our goalie pool is one of the weakest in the league.

Not much. I would Cowley is the likeliest followed by Stevens. Brittain hasn't displayed good starter potential this season having a mediocre campaign in the ECHL. But none of them realistically will be starters.

Don't count Houser out !
The guy has been a winner at every level, I wouldn't bet against him ever...
He just succeed everywhere, so as I said, I'm rooting for the guy !
I really hope Tallon goes after O'Connor and drop Brittain...

Apparently the price was too high and that's why we signed Stevens instead.

Never saw the report that said we weren't offering a contract to Houser or that his demands were too high or that Stevens was his replacement...
