Saad is signed for 20-21, played great for Blue Jackets, didn't work out for the Hawks last season
Panarin is signed for 18-19 but, rumors say; not want to re-sign with the Jackets, played great for the Hawks.

Both are worth 6 mill.

Win-win situation.

I would laugh sooo hard if this trade happened. I imagine Chicago would have to add, and I don't think Bowman is going to admit he made a mistake a 3rd time.

The add is too much. Hawks cant afford Panarin anymore, unfortunately.

Not sign yet... yet is key. He wants to get best price which is fine he took a discount once now he wants fair value.

I don't even think the hawks do this trade tbh. He's a free agent after next season and it's highly unlikely he'd re sign in Chicago.

Saad will bounce back this year and after this season the Hawks cannot afford Panarin. Part of why the Hawks traded Saad for Panarin in the first place was the extra 2 seasons on Saad's contract. If Saad's shooting percentage rebounds and he becomes the dominant 5-on-5 player he has been in the past, the trade won't look as lopsided.

Chicago couldn't afford The Bread man after this year. Not even close unless they give away the most overpaid player in the NHL - Toews.
