Saad will bounce back this year and after this season the Hawks cannot afford Panarin. Part of why the Hawks traded Saad for Panarin in the first place was the extra 2 seasons on Saad's contract. If Saad's shooting percentage rebounds and he becomes the dominant 5-on-5 player he has been in the past, the trade won't look as lopsided.

Why would Chicago do this, when Panarin is a UFA after next year? This is the reason they traded him.
