In my opinion from now on he starts slowly declining in terms of goals scored and averages around 40 goals in next 5 seasons.
Wont be best undisputed best goalscorer in league anymore but part of interchangeable TOP 5 or so (guys like Matthews, Laine, McDavid etc..). Will win 1 more RR in weak season for other goalscorers and ends up with 9 Richard Trophies total.

I think he gets 1 more.

But I wouldn't be shocked if it was 3.

4 or more would be pretty shocking.

He may get 1 more, but I wouldn't be surprised if he never gets another. He already has lead the league in goals the most times in NHL history, and honestly, it will probably be a LONG time before someone breaks that record.

He could've possibly had 9 if it wasn't for the first lockout. Truly a shame. Still the GOAT goal scorer tho.

8. He's done winning the Rocket. This is his last year winning it.

How so? He won in the shortened season lockout, and it's unlikely he wins if the '05 season took place, considering he didn't win his first two seasons in the league

Ovechkin was done winning the Rockets in 2013. Sorry but these are the facts.
He beat Draisaitl by 1 goal. It's over. Good run, but he's done. I'd say he has a better shot at 50 assists than 50 goals now.

I said one more but at the same time wouldn't surprise me totally if he won 5 more. He's the best of all time at what he does.

I can see that.

So? He's still the clear favorite. Draisaitl could easily fall down to ~40 next year while Ovi could be closer to 60.

People will write him off every single season and he will continue to dominate. I think 1 or 2 is still possible, TBH there isnt much competition for him I.e no young player looks to be the enxt one to dominate the goal scoring race.

Laine was supposed to overtake him, and he still might, but after the season he had I wouldn't bet on it happening very soon.

Drai isn't gonna shoot at 21% again next year.

If Matthews can stay healthy he's the best bet IMO. But it mostly depends on Ovechkin's performance, rather than the challenger's.

Ovi is fighting time. At some point he'll slow down. Could be this year or 1-2 more max. But - other challengers are nearing their best

Laine (off year but potential is there)
Matthews - full season finally?
McDavid
Then you still have Kucherov Mackinnon Stamkos - penguin stars...etc

Lots of competition. So ill say he's done.

All conventional wisdom tells me he won't win another one. Everyone loses out to time eventually. But i voted 2 more because I don't necessarily think Entropy works the same for the man who has never had a hangover.
