According to this article, The Last Kingdom season 3 will air sometime later in 2018. Looking at the calendar, it won't be too long.

Just watched this last night, thought it was pretty good. From what I understand it actually was pretty close to being historically accurate as compared with Mel Gibson's fantasy Braveheart.
