If it were me:
61-7-6
68-65

93-44-27
2-65

First unit emphasizes quick movement and trying to move the puck laterally to get high quality chances. Second unit goes umbrella with 93-2-65 on the arc. 44 low and 27 in front of net.

I'd like to see Karlsson off the second unit, give that one to Ceci/Wideman and Phaneuf.

This way, Karlsson is fresh for the shift after the PP. Also, it changes the look of the second unit a bit and forces the opposition to adapt.

Unit 1
Stone-Turris-Ryan
Hoffman-Karlsson

Unit two
Prince-Zibanejad-Lazar/Pageau/Smith
Phaneuf-Ceci or Wideman

Remember that Phaneuf will probably get limited PP time for the first couple of games, seeing as how he hasn't had a full practice with the team yet and has zero game experience with the PP structure we use.

Basically, disregard the first couple of games as far as special teams is concerned.

It would be interesting to see the Sens try more of a "shooting" type of powerplay versus the umbrella style they've been running lately.

You have elite shots like Ryan, Hoffman, Karlsson, and now Phaneuf and a very good screener / deflection artist in Stone. Why not try and put guys on their off hand and have them be available for the one timer.

I think the way it is now where Hoffman and Ryan have to recieve the puck, turn towards the goal, and then shoot at an outside angle isnt an ideal use of their capabilities. I think it would be much more effective to immediately slap it on goal more from the center of the ice.

You then are facing a goalie who doesnt have time to set up for every shot.

I'd go with...

PP1:
61-7-6
65-2

PP2:
93-44-27
68-65

Karlsson is like Ovie and a prime Gonchar - he needs the full 2 minutes on the PP or close to it.

I'd go
Karlsson
Phaneuf wideman
Smith turris

Karlsson
Hoffman zibby
Prince pageau

2 centers on each unit, best shots on their off sides for quick one timers.

Karlsson
Phaneuf Hoffman
Turris Stone

Karlsson
Ryan Wideman
Zibanejad Pageau

Phaneuf Karlsson and Hoffman at the top of the umbrella should pretty much negate the need for a second pp.

if the PP was 3 mins long, I think they'd consider playing him the full 3 minutes since he can keep making plays, so I think EK would play the full 2 minutes on any team. But I think you can still give the PP to Phaneuf and have Karlsson move to the left, which I think is what they did for a bit in the previous game.

I would put Phaneuf on the 2nd PP.

Hoffman with Karlsson on the blue line on the first.

Good luck getting a break-away against them.

I would do this. If Hoffman is gassed I would put Prince or Dzingle there
