I think for returns ,Ottawa would be better at packaging up some of their depth guy,s..As none save maybe JGP is worth much by themselves...

No thanks on Nilsson not sure if he fare any better then are other backups with the defense the Devils have.

The Sens don't have a good defense either fwiw. Chabot and Demelo are good, other than that it's pretty average but the team as a whole is commited defensively. Wolanin is good but has been injured all year.

Zaitsev, Hainsey, Borowiecki and Goloubef, nothing more than average and below average. Nilsson has been very good, Anderson on the other hand is obviously declining.

For Ottawa, they happy to have a fire sale for many of the players mentioned, but there is no motivation to trade White or Nilsson, or to acquire high end players (e.g. Murray) until they’re looking to compete in a few years.

That said, the starting point of some of the OP proposals is OK.

- Ottawa taking on Galchenyuk’s full hit to then retain and flip him is possible
- Tierney to Edmonton seems workable if they are interested
- Hainsey and Ennis will both almost certainly be traded, though they could get a more than a mid round pick and a cap dump.
