Not enough Pageau, he finishes every check, he's not going to knock anyone out like Neil used to do, but he finishes everything. And Ryan's pretty good too.

Greening shying away from physical contact is a major reason he lost his spot on the roster according to comments from Murray...
Yep he needs to up the ante big time in the physicality dept, with his speed and size he should be blowing up dmen:nod:

OK.. This clinches it. You are definitely Don Cherry.

Cool to see a big :)naughty:) celeb like you on the boards.

Isn't it a shame that Vancouver lost both Lalongo and Biesska? :sarcasm:

No Greening? He may be too nice, but he still hits quite a bit.

That must be why BMur has been getting all the calls lately. Greening is the man.

Needs way more Pageau. Guy finishes every check and knows what he is doing all the time. I saw him literally draw 3 PPs in one game because he frustrates other teams so much. A lot of it is from his physicality. Utter fearlessness. Motor that won't quit.

Boro is the obvious 1st guy. Neil 2nd. Cowen has the potential to be high. Gryba would be on the list if he was still here.

Regardless of his size... Pageau was the most relentless physical forward on the team most of the year with Neil's injury. He is so underrated at it... It is not funny. He doesn't do it when it puts him out of position. He simply does not take penalties at all. Yet he also plays a real physical game. He is like The water torture method. Consistently a drip of water in one spot becomes so painful. Pageau keeps on guys until the retaliate, or get frustrated and off their games. Neil might hit like a big tidal wave but the relentless drip is also very effective at wearing guys down.

Ryan got pretty physical at times. Finished his checks.

Thought of another analogy for Pageau. He is a swarm of blackflies up North. He drives you nuts and any one little bite is not much but it never stops. Neil or his ilk are still frustrating like a deer or horse fly... Making some noise and when they do bite it takes a big chunk out of you.

I would rather get bit once by a blackfly... But the effects of a swarm of blackfly is maddening. Drives you insane.

Watch how mad and frustrated players get at Pageau. His pest level is largely due to his relentless physical game. He finishes checks other guys don't routinely. He never lets up. And his hockey IQ and his ability to know his own skillset and strength never sees him go over the edge. He does it on the forecheck, the back check... All the time. It is beauty to watch.

Look at his PIMs in the Q, the AHL and the NHL and the kind if motor and relentlessly physical way he plays and you can see the genius of his style.
