OT: Ottawa getting a Pro Basketball team

Pro basketball team in Ottawa will be officially announced Wednesday

The Canadian Elite Basketball League has called a Wednesday morning media conference to announce it is adding a team in Ottawa, playing out of TD Place arena.
The CEBL also has franchises in Edmonton, Fraser Valley (Abbotsford, B.C.), Guelph, Hamilton, Niagara (St. Catharines) and Saskatchewan. Launched in 2019, it has a season that runs from May to August.

There isn't a market for basketball here. Seems insane to try this again after the SkyHawks failed.

This isn't like football or baseball where the market proved (once upon a time) that it could support the sport. I mean, the tides have turned for those sports too but at least there's a baseline of what is achievable.

I understand trying to capitalize on the Raptors success, but I don't see how this lasts for more than a season or two.
