Ontario is ridiculous on offense:
Steven Stamkos
Claude Giroux
Jason Spezza
James Neal
John Tavares
Joe Thornton
Eric Staal
Tyler Seguin
Logan Couture
Rick Nash
Corey Perry

And this is just the top 10 or so.

Their D ain't so bad either;
Doughty
Pietrangelo
Campbell
Bieksa
Burns
Del Zotto
Fowler
Subban

Goaltending is the only position we have a clear advantage in; Mike Smith vs. Carey Price. I know Smith was outstanding this past season but he hasn't put up consistent stats like Price has, neither does he have the pedigree.

Fowler plays for Team USA

Our defense would be likely the best around and Price is a top goaltender, but I don't see how we could compete with our forward group with other states/provinces.

I think you have to have Mitchell on the third pairing if you want to win, our only way to win is to play a defensive grinding game, Mitchell with his long stick and top end defensive game would be an asset.

How many defensive defencemen does a team need? In fact looking at it now I might even take Zannon out and replace him with Shultz because we have a lack of offense from the back. Anyways its all a fantasy :)

Just had to know :) Six team tournament.
<snip>

For comparison sake I think this would end up similar to scaled down version of Olympic hockey, something like:

Ontario = Canada
Quebec = Russia
Prairies = Sweden
BC = USA
Alberta = Finland
Maritimes = Czech/Slovakia

Sounds about right, we would play a similar style to USA and be made up of younger guys.

Anyone have time to assemble these teams in NHL 13 and simulate the results? :laugh:

The best part about Team BC is the age. Aside from Mitchell, there is no one noteworthy above the age of 30.

And then you got prospects like Reilly, Schultz, Reinhart...

I think 3-5 years down the road, we'll be looking really good especially with the development of Reilly and the Reinharts, RNH establishing himself with a couple of years under his belt.
